A trial at Grand Teton National Park

My story started more than two decades ago in a small village in the northern part of the New Territories in Hong Kong.  I grew up with my two elder brothers, my granny and my parents.  I went to a Christian kindergarten and primary school.  From there, I got to know Jesus.

After finishing Form Six in the secondary school, I became an undergraduate student in the Department of Journalism and Communication at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).  For four years, I'd enjoyed an independent and free life in the student hostel of the Shaw College.  I devoted the first summer in CUHK studying French, but I've forgot almost everything now.  For the second summer, I went for a trip to Europe with my best friend, Carol.  I spent the last summer working as an intern journalist in the Hong Kong Economic Times.

I continued to pursue my master's degree at Stanford University with the support of Rotary Ambassador Scholarship. While I was in California, I'd attended the Chinese Christian Fellowship at Stanford (CCFS) and Peninsula Bible Church (PBC).  Although it was not a very long period of time, I'd made a lot of wonderful friends there.  I had also experienced some of the best moments in my life.

However, my nightmare started upon the graduation.  My dad passed away with lung cancer and I was also found with a tumor in the brain a year afterward.   Yet, the Lord has been faithful during these difficult moments.  Now almost five years after the trauma, I'm leading a new life as an English  teacher at Christian Alliance S C Chan Memorial College in Tuen Mun.

Recently my neurosurgeon told me that new activities have been shown in thalamus as well as brain stem in my latest MRI scan. My oncologist thinks that radiotherapy is no longer  feasible because I have already received the maxmimum dose of radiation last time. The last option is chemotherapy. The drug (Temodar)  I'm taking is rather expensive but with little side effect. Except for a few vomits on the first day and a bit tire, everything seems to be fine. I'll have another MRI examination in 3 month's time. Please continue to pray for me that the chemotherapy would be effective. Thank you!

...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
