History Made: A Trade!
[08.02.02]
History was made in Puck's World Fantasy Footbal in the late hours of July 26th. After three years, a trade has been completed in this league. Kalamazoo Vikings and Wisconsin Wannabes came to terms which sends Wisconsin's #4 draft pick to Kalamazoo for Denver Quarterback Brian Griese. Even though the trade was contested, the President of the league found that the trade did not violate any rules, and the value of the seventeenth pick in this year's draft was reasonable compensation for the Denver quarterback. Griese ranked 5th in the league at the quarterback position in 2001 while playing for the Green Bay Fudgepackers. Kalamazoo acquired Griese off waivers near the end of last season in an attempt at keeping Seattle from acquiring a highly ranked quarterback. Wisconsin, was in need of a good backup to Favre and with drafting so late, she was worried that one may not be available. Wisconsin has also been rumored to be floating Griese for trade bait to a team looking for a good quarterback. Wisconsin has waived Terence Mathis to keep their roster at twenty players.
Offseason Trading Deadline is August 12th. Final 2002 Protection Lists are due August 19th. See the current draft board by clicking on "Drafts" above.
