I am a person who is very keen about practical software/electronics. I always prefer to do my own thing by gaining the knowledge. So far I have done lot of experiments with software/electronics related to so many fields. I have done lot of cheap projects as well as expensive projects by my own.

Here I publish my some of the interesting projects that I have done. I have done lot of projects but now I do not have their remaining stuff, but still I can help anybody who is interested in those fields. All the parts are available in the local market.

Those who are really interested in Electronics and Software to do things by  your own, it is recommended to visit the site www.epanaroma.net

Computer interfacing is very simple and you do not need engineering background at all; if you are really interested on it. You need only to have a fair electronics knowledge. (not theoretical, but practically). You can get lot of information from the site that I have given above.

I will shortly add my own information regarding computer interfacing with few projects based on Serial port, Parallel port, ISA card and USB port. However if you are really good at electronics, it is not impossible to implement your PCI card, but we do need a special PCI interface chip, which has more than hundred pins. Soldering this chip is the hardest thing and if you can proceed this part it is not hard as you think at all.

You should remember writing the software for those hardware in computers, is not hard as implementing the hardware part. If you can build your hardware, it is not hard to write the soft codes for your hardware.  If you have not done hardware programming just start it with Pascal, C  or C++. It is very easy. Never think it is hard or impossible as the local computer programmers (Dummies) pretending. But if you are willing to do it in Assembler language at the beginning, then it may not be possible. You need fair amount of experience in programming before start it in Assembler language. You need lot of hardware related information when doing such things in Assembler language.

  1. Remote control (IR based) Mains (230 V) switch

A good switch for mains operations. No additional external  power is required.
  2. Parallel port based simple interface with software
routines in Delphi, C++ and VB for the beginners.
A good starting project for beginners. Very simple programming is required.
  3. Data storing in a hard disk with out a computer.
Micro controller knowledge is required for this
    simple project.
A project that uses a hard disk to store data with out a computer. This needs a fair knowledge in electronics and software.
  4. A simple steering wheel for car racing games.

This is a very cheap project that you can develop at home for fun.
  5. A low cost telephone equipment protector.

A simple project for protecting telephone accessories from lightning.
  6. Simple ISA card implementation A simple ISA card project for beginners.
  7. Simple LCD interface Very simple interface that can be driven by a Micro Controller or PC interface
  8. Micro controller projects Simple micro controller projects for beginners. This includes a micro controller programmers for DALLAS and MICROCHIP micro controllers.
  9 More to be added soon  . . . . . .
