| Love Pause | |||||||||

| I thought she was my soulmate, if there is such a thing, I started flying way too high, as if on an eagle's wing. I want to love her forever, but she doesn't even want a year, She used to want to be with me, but lets her life be run by fear. I love her too much, because a month for her, is even far too long, I thought she and I would share happiness, but once again I'm wrong. If my love for her were a fraction, that would only last a couple weeks, It would STILL be too much love; because it's not love that she seeks. I can't be with her, for a single day, because I can't give her what she needs, She has to hoe her field of dreams, to eliminate the weeds. She won't even let me be with her for a single night, I'm a rookie, and she has an expert, who does everything just right. My love grows for her, so I have to make it stop, If my tears continue flowing, I'll have to get a mop. The next time I trust a girl, I hope I take a pause, And hope that I remember, there is no Santa Claus |
