This paper consist of Three Sections. Section A is compulsory. Do any Four questions from
                 Section B and any two questions from Section C


                                     Section-A                                         Marks : 20


1(a) Are automatic washing machines really close loop control system.
(b) Discuss the effect of feedback on accuracy and stability of the system.
(c) Derive block diagram of the given system:
            
(d) How are location of roots of characteristics equation are related to stability?
(e) What is relative stability? Name the methods used to find relative stability.
(f) Distinguish between type and order of the system.
(g) How will you specify a transient response for second order system?
(h) What is Compensation ?
(i) What information we do not get from Routh-Hurwitz Critirion?
(j) Give importance of transfer function.

2. How you will model a thermal system? State all the assumption if any.
3. Give F(s) and location of poles in S plane for the following time functions between t and f(t).
            
4. Find C(s)/R(s).
            
5. Comment on the stability of the system whose characteristics equation is s3 + 3 s2 - 6 s + 10 = 0 and find
    number of poles on R.H.S., L.H.S., imaginary axis.
6. What is a.c. servomotor and where it is used in automatic control systems ?

7. Predict the stability of the system having G(s)H(s) = K/s2(1 + sT) with the help of Nyqist Criterion.
8. Sketch root loci for a system with open loop transfer function of K(s + 2)/(s + 3)(s2 + 4s + 5) and find the
    value of K for which the instability occurs.
9. (a) What are Bode Plots ? How they help a Control Engineer?
    (b) Find eo for ei as step input, ramp input, paraboloc input find steady state error also..
