| This year UMM's Annual Mac Sennett Lobster Feed and Alumni Reunion usually held in August was moved to October to coincide with UMM's Homecoming Festivities. Despite awful weather, the campus was crowded with students, faculty, alumni and prospective students and their families. There were numerous activities going on including the first ever Alumni Career Panel, soccer and volleyball games, craft fairs and a musical production (starring Phi Tau Phi's own Crystal Czaja S'02). There were also science and music events for the children. The UMM Alumni Association's traditional auction was held with Art McEntee doing the honors as auctioneer while his wife, Marilyn, kept the paperwork flowing. In place of the lobster feed, the school held an Italian dinner with desserts in the Clipper Lounge along with the recognition of honored classes and distinguished alumni. The Distinguished Alumni this year included Ed Champagne and Phi Tau Phi Alumnae Sheryl Lamson. Other Phi Tau Phi Alumni who attended included Nancy Higgins Willey, Carol Brown Webster, Elaine Whitney Cale, Susan Compton Cassidy and Amy Frescoln Hodgdon. I apologize if I have left anyone out as I did not get a chance to meet everyone who attended! Special thanks to Elaine Whitney Cale and Carol Brown Webster for their help with the events and involvement in the auction. Did you attend Homecoming?? If so, I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions. Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or call 207-244-3610. UMM's 2005 Homecoming events will be held October 14-16, 2005!! Hope to see you there! Submitted by Heidi Jarvis Smallidge, S'86, President, UMM Alumni Association |
