| We are pleased to report the success of our 75th reunion. Of the 38 sisters who contributed to the reunion, 25 were able to attend. We really appreciate everyone's support and the extra donations we received from many of you. Upon arrival, alumni were greeted warmly by the event organizers (Heidi Smallidge S'86, Patti Roy S'89 and Kim Phillips S'91). Attendees were given name tags and folders containing the day's agenda, a Treasurer's Report, a Scavenger Hunt list and a draft constitution for the Alumni Association. If you were not able to attend but would like to receive copies of any of these items, please contact one of the organizers. The reunion began with a brief period of introductions and mingling where everyone had an opportunity to introduce themselves, share some personal sorority experiences and maybe get some scavenger hunt answers. Light refreshments were available throughout the afternoon session. Alumni were encouraged to browse through the memorabilia set up around the room as well as get a preview at the design for our website. The meeting was called to order by the reunion organizers who went over a little of the history behind the newly formed Alumni Association as well as some of their future goals. Some of the things the Association has accomplished so far include a database of PTP alumni, (there are over 500 sisters on record and we have addresses for close to 50% of them.) and a pretty complete history of the sorority including it's fundraisers, social activities and pledging procedures. Finally, we have produced and distributed two newsletters, organized a sorority-wide reunion and now have a website. After a break for dinner, we all gathered to award prizes and socialize. There were plenty of memorabilia and yearbooks to stir up memories and get the conversations flowing. Arlene Dyer Weeks, '44, received a prize for representing the earliest pledge class in attendance. She brought along her PTP Beanie and shared some stories about her experiences. In addition to a prize for bringing along the most memorabilia, Tabatha Weymouth Holmes, S'95, won one of our randomly drawn door prizes. Danielle Neufeld, S'91, flew in from New York for the weekend to show her support. She was also one of 12 sisters crowned for being part of pledge classes from the 90's, the best represented decade. The sisters from the 80's were a close second. Other distinguished attendees included: Muriel Watts, a PTP advisor for 19 years, and her husband, Phil (both of whom had some wonderful stories to tell!); Katherine Goodness Hilt, F'72 who brought several UMM yearbooks to share; Sue Clukey Milligan, F'76; Jenifer Wilson Smith, F'82; Pam Sutherland Lent, F'82; Sarah Williams Hood, F'82; Dixie Bachman Beaudoin, S'83; Nancy Colbert Roe, S'84; Barbara Thompson Redding, S'86; Deb Melnikas, S'90; Ann Dowd Gosselin, S'92; Mindy Daoust Emond, S'92; Kristen Miner Robinson, F'95; Charity Hangge, S'98; Jennifer Stevens, S'98; Kristin Polk, S'98; Shauna Burgess, S'98; Morgan Seeley, S'02 and Crystal Czaja, S'02, the only active sister in attendance. At the conclusion of the planned events, many sisters accepted Jeni Smith Wilson's invitation to continue the festivities at her home nearby. Thank you to Jeni and her husband for opening their home to us. Everyone had a very good time. We'd also like to acknowledge the donations we received from alumni who could not attend: Heather May Waters Garrison, S'95; Dorothy Johnson, F'66; Kathy Choate, '61; Donna Paquette Ayres, F'95; Frances Hennessey Grover, F'38; Barbara Law Jewell, F'40; Lois Parker Pike, F'40; Louise Bennett, F'40; Dorothy Smith Fickett, F'41; Janet Wurm Sadler, F'58; Lucy Baker, S'75; Amy Frescoln Hodgdon, F'82; Michelle Heller Trottier, S'95. KMA brother Randy "Bub" Anderson also made a surprise appearance. Again, we'd like to thank everyone for the support we received. We enjoyed hearing and sharing stories from everyone who was able to attend! |
