Wim
Demeere started training in the martial arts at age 14, studying
Judo and Jujitsu. After a few years, he began training in a traditional
Chinese martial art called Hung Chia Pai. This was to be his main
art for more than ten years, until he discovered Tai Chi Chuan in
1997. He successfully entered full-contact fighting tournaments,
obtaining the national title in his weightclass several times and
a bronze medal at the 1993 Wushu world championships. He also trained
the Belgian Wushu Federation national Sanshou team.
