What the heck is a PsyD?!? In short, it's a clinically focused doctoral degree in psychology. I'm a graduate of ISPP--Chicago. Because I am in training as a post-doctoral resident, I see therapy clients only through proper supervision. In the meantime, I am also a tutor for professional writing and technology, and a consultant to those going through job and career changes. In my not-psychologically-oriented time, I do creative writing, and work with other writers, editing and preparing their items for publication. I'm a big believer in the power of the written word.
My mind and my world are organized around people. The important people in my life--family and friends, as well as clients and colleagues--are always my motivation, my joy and my first priority. With those people, or by myself, I'm a big believer in simple joys, laughing right out loud, long serious philisophical discussions and semantic debates that balance out the goofiness and the value of comfortable silence. I believe in going with my instincts, taking risks, and taking it easy now and then, too.
I'm learning sign language, am addicted to caffiene (coffee, mostly) and CD's of many stripes. I read constantly (some of which is actually the stuff I'm supposed to be reading for my licensing exam...a lot of it's not).
