| What is a curriculum vitae? | |||||
| A curriculum vitae, or CV, is a form of resume. Some professions require or are better suited to the CV format. Rather than your standard Objectives, Work History and References format suggested for resumes, the CV offers space for publications, workshops, research experience, et cetera, and is better suited to those in the creative arts, professors, public speakers and the like. Another bonus is that, while resumes should be as brief as possible, CV's are meant to be a more complete reflection of one's career experience. Professionals who have been in their field for many years often have CV's of twenty-five pages or more if they have done a great deal of publishing or presenting.
