The
Task

You have
been hired by a travel agency to investigate biomes for information to
give to people who are planning vacations. You will take on the
role of a Zoologist, Botanist/soil scientist, Environmentalist, and
Geologist/Climatographer.
Working with your team, you will create
a presentation in the form of a commercial, sales pitch or
another creative format to enlighten potential customers about
the advantages and disadvantages in traveling to your biome.
- Geologist
will describe the location of the biome, the physical geography
(Topography and Landforms), the climate and the natural resources that
are within the Biome. Click on Geologist to
find out what they do.
- The Botonist/Soil
Scientist will have the job of determining the type of soil
and
the soil characteristics of the biome as well as researching the plant
life and the adaptations these plants have for living in this
ecosystem. Click on Botanist and soil scientist to find out what
they do. If you have an ocean ecosystem click Marine Biologist
- The Zoologist has the task of
looking for the animal life and the adaptations that the animals have
to help them life the your biome. This person is also in charge
of
determining food chains and food webs for the biome. Click on Zoologist or Marine Biologist

- The Environmentalist
has the task of distinguishing the benefits to humans as well as the
impact humans have on the ecosystem. Keep in mind that some
things done to the ecosystem could be considered benefits and threats
to the ecosystem. Click on Conservation

to find out about careers in environmental science.
All group
members are responsible for putting together an introduction and
conclusion for the project. The final
product can be in the form of a paper and presentation, Powerpoint
presentation,
skit or any other media to fulfill the requirements of your role.
