Within the cosmopolitan cultural heritage & hectic industrial activities of this century-old city of Asansol-Burnpur few tremendous energetic, young, culturally sensitive photo-lovers formed this society in the year 1983 to deliberate & inculcate the photographic aesthetics. For the positive inclination towards its ultimatum, the society was nourished under few of the leading photographic personality of the country since its inception. The society started under the corporate membership of both the parent bodies of Indian photography, i.e., Federation of Indian Photography, Kolkata & India International Photographic Council, New Delhi. This year the society is celebrating 'Silver Jubilee' of its revelation & in the mean time it has emerged out as one of the leading photographic institution of the country & has been able to gather lots of noticeable feather to its cap. So far the society has the credit to organize seven successful All India Photographic Salon & as many as ten nos. successful workshop-cum-seminar & as many local exhibitions. Members are performing remarkably in national & international salon & has the credit to pick up national & international awards. In a nutshell it is the constant endeavor for the society to inculcate the photographic aesthetics in this industrial vicinage.
