| At first Remy Le Beau seemed to have his eye on every female in the X-Men, particularly Jean Grey. Although Jean had no interest in anyone but Scott. Remy eventually set his sights on Rogue, or more interesting enough it seems it could have been the other way around, after all the first time they really flirt it was Rogue who asked the open line. ' You like, Gambit?' In regards to the dive she makes into the pool on Magneto's Astroid after half the X-Men are brain-washed into following him. Evidently Gambit INDEED liked it, and even teased her almost touching her bare skin, Rogue of course terrifyed of what her powers could do flew off and sent Gambit right into the pool! The X-Men eventually, break Magneto's 'programing' of them and leave Astroid M, with a distraugh Moria McTaggart who blames herself for everything because of the experiments she had done on the deaged Magneto. Shortly after this is the imfamous basketball game, sure to go down in Gambit and Rogue fan history. Gambit and Jubliee pair off against Rogue and Wolverine for a 'friendly no-powers game' of basketballl. Jubilee and Gambit are winning, but the game quickly detoriates as Jubilee accuses Rogue of using her powers, and Rogue accuse Gambit of using his mutant hieghtened agility. Eventually the no power rules go out the window and Gambit charges the ball, sending Rogue crashing through a wall of the mansion. She is furious, Gambit cool as always draps her romantically over his arm and invites her to dinner. The other X-Men caution him against pursuing Rogue, but Gambit's not the one to listen to reason. Even Rogue's (held-back, I'll assume) punch when he tries to kiss her doesn't deterr him. Gambit plans on been stood up and is quite shocked when Rogue turns up for the date dressed to the nines. However she has company, Jubilee, Wolvie and Beast are 'tagging' along in Beast's jeep to make sure Remy treats Rogue right. Remy attempts to lose them on the way of course, but they never get to where they're going, instead Rogue is sent flying by a wire strethed across the road, and Remy is all but blown off his bike. The two, along with Jubilee, Wolvie and Beast are capture by Omega Red, but manage to escape. It's interesting though, that shortly after this the X-Men clash with Sabretooth, who mentions Remy's first name (knowing him of course) and it seems this is the first time the X-Men have heard it. As for Rogue and Remy, after the whole Omega Red and Sabretooth problem, Bishop (a somewhat pyscho mutant cop, part of Xavier's Law Enforcers from the future) turns up. He immediately accuses Remy of been a traitor to the X-Men! The X-Men defend Gambit, obviously believing in him, and Rogue stands up for him, although tries to make light of it, the two then go off to have a pinic. In fact all the X-Men seem to be relaxing on that particular day, except Bishop who lurks around, and eventually goads Gambit into a fight. The fight however is interrupted by an un-expected visistor. |
