A Storm Ahead
After recovering from his injuries by whatever means, it seems as if Remy attempted to redeem himself for the next couple of months, helping the poor Robin Hood style and only stealing from the crooks, and if possible returning all goods to their original owners.

This is how Remy happens to be in the mansion where the Shadow King has lured Ororo Munroe, Storm, turned into a child by Nanny. The Shadow King lured Storm there by stealing paintings from the Boston Museum and taking them to the mansion.

Storm is not the only on there however, a mysterious person comes to the young childs aid when she falls from a second storey window into an indoor pool. This is the man we have all been waiting for, Remy Le Beau.
Although funnily enough Remy (much like Rogue) goes only by an alias, that is Gambit.

Storm is nervous about this man and tries to escape, but is almost capture by a hound only to be saved by Remy again, who since thieves stick together abandons the paintings and tries to get away with Ororo.
He mentions he thinks he recognises Ororo, who also uses her alias Storm with him, which he turns to the much loved (but to Ororo herself exceedingly annoying) nickname 'Stormy'. This recognition is most likely from the Morlock Tunnels, as Storm was at that time the Leader of the Morlocks, and also reports of the X-Men.

Remy and Storm don't get far before they are stopped by Dr. Shen and two hounds. Remy however uses a power that has never been mentioned of since then, he 'charms' the woman (Dr. Shen) and even the Hounds! The Shadow King a VERY powerful telepath suggests that given the chance Remy could probably 'seduce' him! This indicated that despite the fact this power seems forgotten it could be a very powerful abiltiy indeed, explaining Gambit's ability to repel telepathic probes and the like. (More on this in Stats)

The Shadow King hits Remy with a psi-bolt, Storm has a change of heart and immediately tries to rescue Remy from Dr. Shen. but in a twelve year olds body her powers are unrelaible and she is struck by a psi-bolt herself. However the Shadow King hestitation when he believes Storm WILL strike him and kill him (or the body he's in) allows Gambit time to charge a plate and cause the wall to collaspe on the Shadow King.

Dr. Shen plans some nasty revenge on Remy but Ororo saves Gambit.
Storm calls up winds that fill the room with ash from the fire place and she and Gambit get away to the roof (Gambit makes a call on the way to the police about the paintings). There are pursued by the Hounds and Shen , but Storm has a parachute, and teeling Gambit to hold on to her, "Good thing you're so young, otherwise I might start to get ideas." Gambit jokes, he also doubts the parachute will work with no wind, but Storm of course calls up the wind herself, and flies them to safety.

They are soon attacked by both the Hounds and Shen, and Nanny, but working together manage to escape.

After inital mistrust of him, Storm and Gambit soon form a brother-sister bond over the next few weeks, becoming Robin Hood types, and hangin around in New Orleans, and the Gulf Coast. Ororo recounts that never before had she been so content.

Storm unforunately is still been prusued by Nanny, who captures both her and Gambit, and plans to kill Gambit and take contol of Storm. But while abroad the ship Storm remembers what Nanny has done to her, and that she is an X-Man and in her mid-twenties. Putting on one of the suits, she comes to Gambit's rescue, and Gambit takes care of Nanny. The ship crashes into the swamps, but Gambit and Storm escape.
Gambit notices that Storm is acting differently, to which she says she IS different and does he know of a group called the X-Men.
