Social transformation in CeSoTS Unair can be divided in five issues:

• Anti Corruption and Good Governance
Corruption is a cultural and structural problem. Structurally, corruption linkage with the system of institution which it opens a chance the corruption emergence. It showed by no effective watching by the institution to identify, prevent and solve the corruption. Culturally, corruption is an action based on norms. CeSoTS try to give the important role in effort to solve the problems at research dimension, empowerment and advocacy.

• Conflict and Peace Studies
The various of violent conflicts in Indonesia with the issue of separatism, ethnicity and religiosity are serious problem which to date still be a burden for civil society and government. Peace issue become a vital in social transformation study when communal violent is which spread over in some areas in Indonesia is the result of the failed social transformation during the time. CeSoTS Unair tries to give its role in studying, research and developing peace and conflict resolution.

• Local Development and Public Participation
Local development at autonomy era is a strategic project to create a prosperity. At the same time, public participation will influence how far development process give them a justice. CeSoTS gives the attention to the local development and public participation as part of process of social transformation which inherent in the development process.

• Globalization and Education
Globalization presents social change radically. The breaking of information boundary by technology and agreement of liberalism result of a social change which so quickly in all life sector, such as a behavioral of economics, politics identity and the other sector. There should be a right education on how people to respond the new world order in democratically.

• Democracy Transition and Religion
Religion in transition democracy era get the extraordinary attention in its action in social and politic world. The issue of fundamentalism and radicalism emerge with democratization in this era. Various of religious groups with their ideology and movement influence big in such a way to political system and political policy in state and international world. CeSoTS Unair gives the attention to issue of democracy transition and religion particularly to give the space analysis of religions role at democracy transition in order to be created a conducive political system .
