The Philippines is the only Christian nation in Asia and yet we are one of the most corrupt nations in this part of the world. There are two ways to explain this it is either those who claim to be Christians are among the corrupt or they are just in hiding.
We all dream of change and until now our people are waiting for this change to happen. Some believe that a change of leadership will be the solution, but we have already experience this type of change many times and still we are here in this sad state. The real problem is that we do not take responsibility and ownership of our nation in general. As a people we tend to be reliant on our leaders, we put our hope on people who they themselves are in search of hope. When as Christians we all know that there is only one source of hope and that is God.
God has a plan for us and His plan is good, pleasing and perfect and the only way we can experience this is when we accept Gods plan in our lives. God has a plan for this nation and He needs His people to do their part.
As we all want to see change happen, we must accept the fact that we cannot change the nation without initiating a change in its people. This leads us to another fact that we cannot change other people as we cannot change even ourselves, for it is only God who can change us through Christ our Lord. As Christians we are to live in Christ as He lives in us. And that our lives must reflect his righteousness. |
