Basics and Beyond

**Many of these lessons, after the basic ones, will require using outside filters.  These filters will open up so many new creating possibilities!

 If you have installed a filter but find these filters are not working on your computer, you may also need to install additional .dll files. 

For those of you who do not know how to install filters, please click here. The site also provides the necessary .dll files which you can download.

**Very Important: Please note - different computers have the dll files installed in different system folders.  Here is the listing of where to install the necessary dll files:**

Windows 98 ~~ unzip into your C:\Windows\System folder
Windows ME ~~ unzip the Plugin.dll into your C:\Windows folder AND into your plugins folder. Unzip the Msvcrt10.dll into your C:\Windows\System folder.
Windows 2000 ~~ unzip into your C:\WINNT\System32 folder
Windows XP ~~ unzip into your C:\Windows\System32 folder

**Adding Backgrounds and Borders in Outlook Express**

Remember, if you have Outlook Express 6.0, to view stationery you will need to go to your security settings and:

• Have your Security set to Internet Zone and

• Do not have the box checked where it says do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.
