"Promises To Keep" Chapter 7: No Turning Back Thank you Salt Lake City! Youve been an awesome crowd! Trevor said into his microphone as the guys ran offstage. Great show! Jacob said with a little more enthusiasm this time. Yes, great show, Mike Cronin told the guys. Or at least thats what we think he said, who can tell with his accent? Now we have to go to the hotel and then first thing in the morning get on the bus to go Las Vegas, Morin told the guys. Okay, the guys said unison. They got in the SUV and drove to the hotel. A good nights sleep and a few showers later, they were ready to hit the road. Nobody had ticked anybody else off yet so it was looking to be a pretty good day. Guys, Im glad that were all in good moods today, Ashley observed. Yeah, this is nice, Dan said smiling. Erik and Jacob said nothing. Trevor bounced around the bus acting like a two year old. They were all ready to do this show in Vegas. It was one of the last dates on their tour. After the tour they would be able to go home and sleep, something that they hadnt done in a long time. The rest of the trip was non-eventful. The guys all prepared for the show in their own ways. Dan practiced his scales to warm up his vocal cords and drank plenty of water. Erik slept. Trevor ran around the bus some more claiming to be working on his dance moves. Jacob stayed in his bunk playing some awful song on his guitar that he was writing for Janie, once again. Ashley read Cosmo Girl looking for ways to make his hair healthier and shinier. Mike and Mike stayed out of the guys way. */*/*/* Melissa dragged Allison off the plane and down to the front doors. They hailed a taxi and went to the Thomas and Mack center where the concert was being held. They sat in front of the ticket counter, the first ones there. Mel, when this is over, can we go home? Allison asked shielding the sun from her eyes. Sure, Melissa said. She had had enough of this too. If they didnt meet them here then they never would. Melissa wasnt a quitter but some things just needed to be put to an end. The girls waited until they started selling tickets. Luckily they werent completely sold out. They had crappy seats, but it was better than nothing. When the tickets were bought and their seats secured, the girls let out a sigh of relief. Well this better be worth it, Allison said under her breath. Its now or forever will I have to hold my peace, Melissa whispered to the smiling face of Dan Miller on the poster outside the entrance. */*/*/* Guys! Mike Morin called from the front of the bus. Lets go! Sound check in ten minutes! The guys went to the stage and did their sound check. Then they went backstage to get dressed and get ready. Screaming fans filled the seats and waited for their favorite group to take the stage. Melissa and Allison settled in for the concert. Ashley! Ashley! Allison chanted in her head. Danny, oh please dont let me miss you this time, Melissa thought to herself. The lights dimmed and O-Towns music began to play. Soon enough the sweet sounds of Dan Millers voice filled Melissas ears. The concert was underway. Three costume changes, fifteen songs, and an hour and a half later, the crowd was beginning to disperse and Melissas heart raced. This was her chance to tell Dan how much he meant to her. He wouldnt get the last word this time. She didnt know where the strength came from but she heard herself shout, Danny!
