"Promises To Keep" Chapter 8: I Shouldn't Be Here He turned and searched for the source of her voice. He knew who the voice belonged to and was surprised she was here. His eyes locked on her. She was running down the aisle toward him, she stopped at the foot of the stage. �Melissa?� he asked. �Dan!� she replied excitedly. �I�m so glad I finally found you!� �What are you doing here? Aren�t you going to Harvard?� Dan asked confused. �Meet me outside and we�ll talk,� Melissa said before disappearing out a side exit. Dan followed her path and found her standing in the back entrance. Her mocha eyes and creamy skin captivated him. He forgot all the reasons why he had broken it off with her in the first place. He still loved this girl, more than either of them would ever know. �So, what are you doing here?� he asked looking past her and seeing another girl standing only feet away from them. �I had to see you. I miss you, Danny,� Melissa smiled at him. �Mel, I miss you too, but I�m in a band now,� Dan stopped when the hurt expressions spread over Melissa�s soft features. �But if you wanna talk, I�ll talk.� �Dan, this is Allison King, my roommate. Do you think she could meet Ashley by any chance?� Melissa asked hopefully. Allison turned a bright shade of pink. �Sure,� Dan said leading the way to the guys� dressing room. They found Ashley and the other guys sitting around waiting to leave. �Guys, this is Melissa and�� �Allison,� Allison replied sticking her hand in Ashley�s face. �Nice to meet you,� Ashley replied shaking her hand. �Anyway, Melissa and I need to talk. Can you guys hang with Allison for a while?� Dan asked knowing it wouldn�t be a problem. �Sure!� Erik said. �Go, talk, have fun!� Dan led Melissa to another room where they sat across from each other. �So�� he started not knowing what to say next. �So, Dan,� Melissa also didn�t know where to take the conversation. �Why are you here?� Dan asked getting to the point.
