"Promises To Keep" Chapter 6: Waiting For Tomorrow Thank you for all of your blessings. We continue to do this because of your faith in us. Amen, O-Town said just ten minutes until show time. Have a great show, guys, Mike Morin told them. Thanks Mike, Dan replied jumping up and down pumped up. Okay guys, youre on in five! the stage manager called backstage. Good show, Jacob said quietly as if reassuring himself that people would actually want to see him perform. Good show. Jake? You okay, man? Trevor asked trying to hide his smirk. What? Yeah, fine, Jacob said startled that someone had caught him talking to himself. Okay guys, this one is going to be great! Ashley said. I can feel it. You have that feeling too? Erik asked. This is the feeling I got when I met my biological daddy for the first time. Dan muffled his laughter. Um, Erik, lets just go out there and perform. And please try not to break down into hysterical sobs like last time. Ah, yes, last time. I better explain this one to you. You see the last time Erik started talking about his biological daddy (or B to the D as the guys have started to call him) before a show he broke down into hysterical sobs during Baby, I Would. Now, dont ask me why that song but I think it had something to do with the lyrics Would I walk through fire just to be you/Would I cross an ocean just to hold you/Would I give up all I have to see you smile, to see you smile/Would I walk through hell and not think twice? Anyway, back to the present. Shut up! I hate you and I hate this band! Erik and his fake drama make this story so much more interesting. Okay, youre on in five four three two Please welcome O-Town! the stage manager said as the guys ran onstage. Whats going on, Salt Lake? Ashley said before their first song started. */*/*/* Were not making it! Melissa said stating the obvious. Well, we tried, Allison shrugged. What more could they do? It was already half an hour into the show; theyd never make it. Sorry miss, I tried, the driver said looking in the rearview mirror. Its okay. Thanks for trying, Melissa brushed it off. Wheres their next concert? Allison took out the paper. She looked at the list of cities. Las Vegas, she said. Lets go! Would you like me to take you back to the airport? the driver asked them. Um, Melissa bit her lip. Why not? The driver turned around and drove back to the airport. Melissa and Allison booked two more tickets to Las Vegas. The soonest they could get on a plane was at midnight. Well take them, Melissa said without hesitation. Mel, Allison said. Im tired. Do we have to fly tonight? Yes! Melissa spun around facing Allison. This time I am not taking any chances. Were going to see them. Okay, Allison knew it was useless arguing with Melissa. Lets fly. */*/*/*
