This list is by no means complete. If you have advice you want to share, email it to me at [email protected] and you will recieve credit for your advice.

  • Keep your metabolism up by drinking at least 8 classes (I recommend 16 or more) of water a day and be sure to space it out over the entire time you are awake.
  • If you eat small amounts of food (constant snacking) all day, that will also keep your metabolism up. I usually walk around with 1 cup of Total cereal in a small bag and eat it in the span of several hours. 1 cup of Total cereal has only 110 calories and a lot of vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy.
  • Diet pills like Xenadrine, Hydroxicut, and Trim Spa attack the carbohydrates and fat that you consume and don't allow your body to digest it, they also increase metabolism and give you extra energy.
  • One-A-Day Weight Smart contains green tea extract which increases metabolism. It also makes you pee a lot which can be annoying but just think, everytime you urinate you are cleaning your system and removing calories and toxins. One-A-Day also contains a lot of vitamins and minerals to keep you healthy.
  • Chromium Picolinate is a rather unknown mineral that helps you burn fat, protein, and carbohydrates more efficently.
  • Exercise is really important for total body weight loss. Aerobic activity 30 to 60 minutes a day is recommended by doctors for physical fitness and depending on the activity and duration can burn as many as 600 calories. Total body weight training (look for exercises that create lean muscle if you don't want bulk) 3 to 5 times a week will give you more muscle mass which increases metabolism and can make you appear skinnier.
  • Figure out a plan for eating before the day begins so that you don't have to stress over food. The more you think about food, the more likely you are to eat.
  • Keep busy, bordom is a leading reason for why a lot of people over eat.
  • Keep inspirational pictures in places were you will see them on a daily basis. A picture of yourself at your fattest as well as a picture of what you would like to look like will both be great inspiration and keep you motivated.
  • When estimating calories of foods and/or portions, always over estimate. If you under estimate you'll eat more than you think you did and you'll have a harder time getting the results you want.
  • Don't eat after 8:00pm. The earlier you eat in the day the more time you have to burn off those calories and your body naturally burns more calories when you are awake than when you are asleep
  • If you know that you tend to binge, become hungry, or crave food at a specific time of day on a regular basis plan to do something that will keep you out of the fridge and cupboards at that time. Do laundry, visit an Ana/Mia forum, take a walk, or clean your room.
  • Treat yourself to one small bad thing a day. Have a Hershey's Kiss (26 cal) to cut cravings for sweets.
