The Kusmins on the Net (in Russian)
Gentry family of Kuzmins. Kuzmins' roots could be traced back to XVI century, according to Russian Bibliographical Dictionary. This family was included into VI volume of noble families of Yaroslavl Region of Russia. Presently, first known ancestor is Andrey Kuzmin, who was born in 1st quarter of XVIII -th century. His son Andrey was a lieutenant of Russian army and a nobleman, owner of a village in the area of Novrogod (estate Kuzminskoye) His sons, Pyotr A. (1778) and Pavel A. Kuzmins (1777), had entered Cadets' Military School (institution of secondary education for offsprings of nobility, gentry and aristocracy). On January, 30 1802 Pyotr A. Kuzmin had retired with a rank of lieutenant and moved to seaside city of Arkhangelsk. Pyotr had been sailing a lot and he "securied" a bride from Corsica (Corse - French isle not far from Italy). They had had 2 daughters; one of them was married to Feoktistov, and another - Glafira P., married to Nikolay P. Vikhlyaev.
