Friends of the Prom's Contribution to the Park

  • Removal of painted signs on rocks at Refuge Cove.
  • Construction of Vereker Outlook and Miller's Landing tracks.
  • Maintenance of Miller's Landing track.
  • Track clearing and repairs- Tin Mine Cove, Tidal Overlook and Waterloo Bay Tracks.
  • Construction and laying of protective slatting to minimise erosion- Tidal Overlook and Waterloo Bay Tracks.
  • Construction of viewing platform with wheel chair access at Telegraph Saddle car park.
  • Soil Conservation work, propagation and planting of 7000+ trees around new lodges at Tidal River, Loo-ern Track, Picnic Point and the old quarry on Mt. Oberon Rd.
  • Construction of Campers Shelter- Stockyard camping area.
  • Weed removal- ragwort, fleabane, dunny vine, briar rose, sea spurge, asparagus fern, forget-me-nots and thistles.
  • Rubbish collection on beaches and roadsides.
  • Seed collection- banksia, hakea, eucalypt, acaica species and grasses.
  • Obtaining more than $10,000 (total) in grants for Prom projects.
  • Removal of invasive vegetation from grasslands and heathlands.
  • Clearing of Yanakie Cemetery.
  • Spring clean of Information Center at Tidal River.
  • Propagation of over 10,000 plants in Friends Nursery, working alternate Thursdays.
  • Assisting in Orange-bellied parrot count.
  • Preparation of erosion protective matting for Aboriginal midden sites.
  • Rehabilitation of Oberon Bay campsites.
