| "Daring To Dream" is Project Amiga's vision for the creation of a Mentor Program dedicated to encouraging young girls to pursue higher education. The program is a comprehensive program designed to address the need and concerns specific to young Latinas ages 7-13 living in Los Angeles County. It is our objective to distribute the program throughout LA County in coordination and approval with the Los Angeles County Board of Education, Los Angeles Unified School District, Department of Public Social Services (CAL-Learn) programs, local libraries, and YMCA's Boys and Girls Club and community movie theatres. Other outreach activities will include Children's Hospital (Project Nateen), Department of Children and Family Services, Info Line, and Los Angeles City and County Youth programs. The Role Model Video Mentor Program has four key components: 1) 15-minute video 2) Speaker panel 3) Mentor sign 4) "My Future" Journal and Reference Guide (take home brochure) |

The resource guide also contains information on the Cerification Process, Documentation Procedures and Guidelines, and Support Services that are available from public and private organizations to assist both the employers and the employees through the process. If interested in purchasing a copy of the 'Resouce Guide,' please contact Project Amiga at the following number: (626) 401-1395. |
