YOUTH RELIANCE & JOB CONNECTION
At-Risk Youth Computer Training
In 1998 Project Amiga, partnered with the City of South El Monte, conducted an at-risk youth training program.  These youth were ages 16-22.  They received computer training in the areas of Keyboarding, Windows, Data Entry and Office Skills.  They received employment skills by performing pre-apprenticeship and clerical office work at City of South El Monte and at the South El Monte Community Center.  As a result of this training, our youths are attending higher education and/or employed in a job with a career goal.  Due to these inspiring cases, Project Amiga considers this program to be a success and will continue to partner with the City of South El Monte on an annual basis to continue the Youth Reliance & Job Connection program.
