Game Information
This is just the info page for all of the classes, or races in Spira. Please read through this page carefully before deciding to put a character somewhere.
Yevonites
The leaders of Spira. They make the rules, and enforce the rules. At least the Yevon Officials do, anyways. Anyone can become a Yevonite if they wish, however, they must be deeply religious and they cannot like the Al Bhed or Ronso or show any sympathy for them. Yevon's new teachings teach a deep hatred for these two races, and although children of Yevonites (Squall, Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Garnet, etc) may not agree with the teachings, the older generation of Yevonites must. They must also be very loyal to Yevon's teachings, almost blindly so. It sounds like two harsh requirements, but the Yevonites do get to basically decide the fate of most of the other characters. The Yevonites reside in Bevelle or parts of Luca, and a few high ranking officials have homes scattered in hidden places so no one will know of their actions. Also, Lord Kinok will not be a playable character. He will be an NPC, controlled by the owner or one of the mods. Another note. There will be a limited space for Yevonites characters. Right now, I am thinking between 10-12 at the very most. I do not want too many people with power.
Guado
The Guado are next in command in the Spira Chain. Very loyal to the Yevonites, they live very cushy lives and have to do hardly any work. Based in Guadosalam, the Guado are a rather religious race that seem to almost be in touch with nature. They are also a scholarly race, and encourage others to learn about Spira's history, as well as Yevon's teachings. The Guado race is led by Lord Seymour Guado, who is also somewhat tied into Yevon, and is a summoner as well. Since their appearance is slightly distinct, not many characters can become Guado. Eiko Carol and Amarant Coral from Final Fantasy IX could possibly become Guado, due to their appearances.
Summoners
Summoners are who everyone in Spira looks to for hope and faith. They summon the aeons, and can perform healing magic. Summoners cannot perform black magic, unless they are a High Summoner. This being said, not many characters can become High Summoners. Yevon has declared that at any one given point in time, there shall only be five high summoners in all of Spira. Summoners grow up in training, and dedicate their life to their art. Not so much to Yevon and its teachings, because Yevon keeps the summoners around for the protection of Spira against Sin. Summoners are usually women, although that is not to say that men cannot become summoners. After training their entire life, a summoner in training (referred to as a Squire) can take the test and become a full fledged summoner after their sixteenth birthday. At this point, they are referred to by their proper tiles. (ex: Lady Yuna, Summoner Yuna, etc). Summoners devote their lives to the well being of the people of Spira, and are the world's healers. They also send the dead (a select few are elected senders), help fight against fiends, and raise the hopes of people in Spira. They are allowed to become High Summoners after their twenty-fifth birthday, although only five in all of Spira are allowed. Summoners come from all over, wherever there is a temple located. They have no true home besides the temple, since most travel around as needed. Characters who are born/natural summoners in their games can become summoners, although the majority will either be Squires or regular summoners. Also, the summoners are "led" by none other than Lord Baska, who is Yuna's father, for those of you who do not know.
Spirian Civilians
This is the largest class in Spira, and what most characters will be. Civilians mostly follow Yevon's teachings because it is what they are taught to do, even if they do not agree with the teachings. They are afraid to go against what is taught, because they are afraid of becoming enslaved like the Al Bhed and Ronso. That is not to be said that there aren't die hard Yevon fans amongst the Civilians. If the civilians were to have a leader, it would be Nooj, who is trying rather hard to secretly form a group of anti-Yevon rebels called the Youth League. As of right now, the Youth League is just an idea of Nooj's, and he is working to form the group. As the game goes on and the faction forms, Youth League will become a class of its own. Civilians live scattered about in Spira, although the vast amount live in either Luca or Kilika. Most characters will be civilians upon joining.
Al Bhed
Believed to be the cause of the Machina War and Sin, the Al Bhed were enslaved by Yevonites shortly after the end of the Machina War and Sin's first appearance. Forced to build Yevon-approved hovers, weaponry, and materials for building homes, the Al Bhed are the backbone of Yevon's labor force. They help grow the crops, they are servants and nannies for Yevon and Guado families. They are the doers of grunt work, and their repayment is to simply be kept alive. They are treated like dirt, and often killed or hurt for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most of the Al Bhed live in the Bikanel Desert (Home), although a large number have been spread across Spira do do other labor. The "royal family" of the Al Bhed (Cid, Rikku, Brother) are treated a bit better than others, only for appearance's sake. Whoever takes on Rikku as a character must understand that although she isn't forced to work as hard, she is still forced to somewhat work here and there, and she has been "saved" by Yevonites to potentially become a high ranking official's mistress upon her eighteenth birthday. Yevon figures that it is the ultimate blow to Cid and the Al Bhed, taking their Princess away from them to defile her and corrupt her. If you wish to take on Rikku, you must go along with this. There are ways to get out of it, I'm sure. But for now, you must go along. Also, not all characters can become Al Bhed (not that you'd want to be one, most likely). Only characters that are naturally blonde can become Al Bhed. Eye color can be fudged with, but they must be natural blondes. So no making Tifa or Eiko Al Bhed, sorry.
Ronso
The Ronso have the same predicament as the Al Bhed, although they are only enslaved because Yevon fears them acting out against Spira and its people because of the Machina War. Mostly held in Mt.Gagazet, they are the brute force of Yevon, usually used as security, or guards at temples. They are also used as guardians for Summoners frequently, in addition to others. There isn't much to say about the Ronso, other than they are led by Elder Kimhari, and obviously not just anyone can become a Ronso. Not that you'd want to make your character a Ronso, but the option is available to take some if you wish.
