As well as being one of the greatest guitarist in the world, Steve also makes internationally reknowned maps for the on-line computer game Counter-Strike. So he's a bit of a nerd in actual fact. He releases these under the psuedonym the_mook, 'cos for some reason it's not the accepted thing to play computer games using one's own name.

Anyways, here are links to some of my favourite maps with download links if I ever managed to getting round to completing them. At present I'm riding on the fame of de_springfield_v2, and I'm hoping that people will download some of my crapper maps while under the impression that they will be good too.

mc_escher
This map is based on the famous MC Escher etching 'Ascending and Descending' (y'know, the one with the impossible staircase). It's currently on its second build and is a looong way from completion. I also think it's my best work so far - using many different techniques (I've had to learn modelling specifically for this map). I'll post a beta here once one is ready.

de_dgcorp
This map was designed by me and my clan- and band-mate Ben, but built by me 'cos he had exams get in the way. It's themed around a hotel awaiting destruction, and exhibits some shameless publicity for my clan, called clan[dg]. It's big, almost entirely unplayable, but it looks good. So it wasn't a complete waste of time.

cs_bigbrother
With this map I continued the TV theme and made a map based around the shit reality programme Big Brother in which the objective was to shoot Jade in her fucking head. Christ that woman even scares my dog.
You can't download this map at all, 'cos I never finished it. But you've got to admit it looks pretty damn good.

cs_gallery
This map was created at one of our internationally reknowned LAN parties in about 3 hours, and for some reason was quite popular. It's a death-match map and was basically an excuse to leave loads of pictures of tasty women around the place.

he_lowgrav
This was another deathmatch map I made when I found out how much fun it was to play on low grav server settings. Lots of very tall pillars with guns on top essentially. Very poor quality and chock-full of bugs but, hey, it was only my second map. My first map wouldn't even compile 'cos it was so buggy. Anyway - some screenies.

cs_confusion
This map took me, ooooh, 3 hours to make, and uses a grand total of two textures. Basically it's a very large maze that's impossible to negotiate - I've never managed to rescue all the hostages and I made the bastard. r_speeds peak at about 40, but then that isn't surprising since there is no detail whatsoever.
I've decided that this map is too good for mere mortals to play, and therefore it is not available for download.

de_springfield_v2

This was my latest creation and is, unsurprisingly, based on the hit TV show The Simpsons. I think it's pretty good, but the girlfriend doesn't 'cos she was virtually ignored during the seven weeks it took to make. Two bombsites, a couple of good reviews so far, and 14,000+ downloads at last count.
