CIMORENE: *she kneels beside Ipal, trying to find the most bleeding wound, calling for Ulrich*  My lord!  Are you all right?

NARRATOR: *you stand there looking at Ipals unmoving body in the moonlight and campfire light with Ulrich thanking the birds*

NARRATOR: Ulrich:I am almost completely unharmed*walks over*

CIMORENE: What happened, Ulrich?  *she gestures to Ipal, still tryig to staunch the woods with her Heal skill*

NARRATOR: Ulrich:They came at us with almost no warning.  I heard them and managed to get out of the way but Ipal was in the thick of it.  Though after a small time we mastered them.  Are you alright dear?  *looks at you*

NARRATOR: (roll your heal skill)

CIMORENE: (14)

NARRATOR: (not good enough sonny)

NARRATOR: Ulrich:Are you alright?*to you*

NARRATOR: (actually i'll give that 14 to you)

NARRATOR: *Ipal opens his eyes and coughs*

CIMORENE: *she nods at Ulrich, but she's apparently bleeding badly from several places and it very very burned*  I'm all right...  Ipal!

NARRATOR: Ipal:Yes?*cough*

NARRATOR: *Ulrich nods and puts his hands on you*

CIMORENE: *she sighes in relief*  Thank the Valar that you survived, my friend.  *She shakes her head at Ulrich*  No.... heal Ipal

NARRATOR: *you feel energy course threw you as you go up a wound level and 5 health too*

NARRATOR: Ulrich:A moment.*walks to Ipal and lays his hands on him*

NARRATOR: *Ipal seems to look a little better as he slowly sits up*

NARRATOR: Ulrich:*to you*You see Cimorene, all is well.

CIMORENE: *she stands as well, eying her singed purple hair with annoyance, then looks to Ulrich*  We need to get to your master's house as quickly as possible... we cannot tarry here

NARRATOR: Ulrich:I agree, with one escaping it is more than likely that we are stalked even at this moment.  Unfortunately *points to Ipal*His horse fled in terror.

CIMORENE: He can ride double with me.  Bard is more than ztraong enough.

CIMORENE: (*strong

NARRATOR: Ulrich:Never-the-less we must press on.  It is not likely we will reach my masters home for a good nights sleep, unfortuantely*looks saddened at the realization*

NARRATOR: (eh?  oh i get it no worries)

CIMORENE: What makes you say that, my lord?  *as she pulls her gear onto her horse and mounts up*

NARRATOR: Ipal:I am ready for what must come lady*to you*.  *he clearly looks quite injured with his left shoulder of his Gondorian plate mail torn apart*

CIMORENE: *she offers a hand to Ipal, reaching for his good arm*  CLimb up behind me, friend, and Bard will carry us to safety

NARRATOR: Ulrich:I have been there before and know the distance quite well.  If I remember correctly it is another days ride.

NARRATOR: *Ipal barely manages to scramble on Bard*

NARRATOR: (observe check)

CIMORENE: (14)

NARRATOR: *things seem peaceful*

NARRATOR: Ulrich:*looks to you*Shall we then?

CIMORENE: *she nods, then says back to Ipal*  Hold tightly to my waist, Ipal.... I think we're going to be moving very fast indeed

NARRATOR: *Ulrich speaks words of magic and the camp-fire goes out*

NARRATOR: *Ipal moans in return*

CIMORENE: Lead on, my lord.... as fast as your horse an carry us

NARRATOR: *Ulrich leads you on into the dawn and beyond*

NARRATOR: *you recover no health without a good nights sleep*

CIMORENE: *needs so sleep*

NARRATOR: *but needs an hour of meditation uninterrupted *

NARRATOR: (do you stop to eat?)

CIMORENE: (NOt if we can help it)

NARRATOR: (ya you don't need to)

NARRATOR: *Ulrich leads you on during the day and into the beggining of the sunset*

NARRATOR: (swiftness test)

CIMORENE: (10)

NARRATOR: *Ulrich without warning pulls his horse off the small path between the canopy of trees and you do not follow his lead quickly enough i'm afraid*

CIMORENE: (shit)

NARRATOR: *a large spider rams bard*

NARRATOR: (another swiftness for falling)

CIMORENE: (14)

NARRATOR: *2 damage*

CIMORENE: (To bard or me?)

NARRATOR: *the spider takes a chomp out of bard as well*

NARRATOR: (to you)

CIMORENE: (He hurt my horse.........)(

NARRATOR: *its glistening incisors bitting him and bard squeals and you can hear his pain in elven*

NARRATOR: (since he's an elvish horse)

NARRATOR: *Ulrich seems to be fending off one by him on horseback*

CIMORENE: *She cries out in Elven at her dear friend's pain and casts Lightening at the creature*

NARRATOR: *another comes inbetween both parties of combatants gaging where to go...*

NARRATOR: *Ipal isn't moving*

NARRATOR: (weariness plz)

CIMORENE: (16)

NARRATOR: *the spider seems to side-step the bolt of lightning and half of it strikes him*

NARRATOR: *the other half strikes a tree*

NARRATOR: *but does not seem to catch flame but spark and kill bark instead*

CIMORENE: *and whips out her bow*

NARRATOR: (isn't that spell 2 actions?)

NARRATOR: *you take 15 "sitting" damage*

NARRATOR: (you're up)

NARRATOR: *it dawns on you that the top of a tree is about to collapse*

CIMORENE: (my turn?)

NARRATOR: (yes)

CIMORENE: *whistles for Bard, who hurries over.  Then picks up Ipal and throws him onto the horse, slapping it's rump to make him run*

NARRATOR: *you notice bard doesn't get up*

CIMORENE: ..........

CIMORENE: (I hate you right now)

NARRATOR: (that's a free action)

NARRATOR: (who said your horse is dead?)

NARRATOR: (ipals hand is in web)

NARRATOR: (webbed up to his shoulders)

NARRATOR: (you can try to toss him if you like)

CIMORENE: *props Ipal up so that he is grabbable*

NARRATOR: (yes toss the dwarf...)

NARRATOR: (k)

NARRATOR: (i'll roll on this...)

CIMORENE: (make sense?  She's just going to hold him there so Ulrich can grab him)

NARRATOR: *Ulrich grabs Ipal and carries him swiftly away*

NARRATOR: *the top of a tree crashes on you and your horse*

CIMORENE: *screams*

NARRATOR: (swiftness, be damn sure you use courage...)

CIMORENE: (15..... that's all my courage)

NARRATOR: (save it then you won't make it)

NARRATOR: (any spells you can use here?)

CIMORENE: (yes...... oh my gods...... dunering)

CIMORENE: (SUNDERING

NARRATOR: (try it...)

CIMORENE: (It will splinter the tree into lots of pieces)

NARRATOR: (yeah doing less damage)

CIMORENE: (15..... barely cast)

NARRATOR: (dang)

NARRATOR: (courage on that?)

CIMORENE: (*prays for a certain handsome elf to come save her)

NARRATOR: (cast away)

CIMORENE: (10 points of structure damage)

NARRATOR: (no pun intended, crap gotta look this up)

CIMORENE: (*nods*)

CIMORENE: (*prays really hard for her handsome elf..... or any elf.....)

NARRATOR: *the tree bursts into pieces everywhere*

CIMORENE: (how much damage......)

NARRATOR: (only 15)

NARRATOR: (bard takes 10)

CIMORENE: *doesn't move, and barely breathes*  (Is Incapacitated)

NARRATOR: (oh dear...)

CIMORENE: (Bard is Injured)

NARRATOR: (listen to this for high stakes:if that spell didn't work you'd take 4d6+12 falling damage)

NARRATOR: (you'd be dead)

CIMORENE: (very very VERY DEAD)

NARRATOR: (lucky elf;-))

CIMORENE: (I'd better get some HUGE courage for this)

NARRATOR: *you feel all your courage in you suddenly*

CIMORENE: (all?)

NARRATOR: (all)

CIMORENE: (What is all?)

NARRATOR: (full courage)

CIMORENE: (I wish we were doing xp!!!  *laughs*  that's five, right?)

NARRATOR: (3 for you)

NARRATOR: (thought you kept track of this)

CIMORENE: (I do.  I was down to 2 before)

CIMORENE: (I wasn't sre what the max was anymore)

NARRATOR: (you would have died if you hadn't cast that spell and you pretty much new it, that's courageous)

NARRATOR: (in fact you win a prize)

CIMORENE: (?)

NARRATOR: (for that you get to have a max of 4 courage from now on)

CIMORENE: (woohoo!)

NARRATOR: (but you're at 3 now still)

CIMORENE: (okies)

NARRATOR: (i never expected that honestly)

NARRATOR: (you almost certainly would have died)

CIMORENE: (Indeed)

NARRATOR: (i wouldn't hesitate to do it either, but if there were options we'd go through it)

CIMORENE: (Let's keep going!!)

NARRATOR: (and we did)

NARRATOR: (k, sorry it's so traumatic)

CIMORENE: (lol.... that was the most fun I've ever had role playing, Jon)

NARRATOR: *two very injured spiders come at you...one is the one from before and the other is the one ulrich was chasing...*

CIMORENE: (....................)

NARRATOR: (by before i mean the one that got away from the first battle)

CIMORENE: *can't move, is passed out (Right?)*

NARRATOR: (let me look that up)

NARRATOR: (I honestly cannot find it in-book, but it seems logical ya know?)

NARRATOR: (incapacitated:you're unconcious)

CIMORENE: (Indeed)

NARRATOR: *you're out cold*

NARRATOR: *bad bad dreams*

NARRATOR: *you cannot tell how long*

NARRATOR: *you wake up*

NARRATOR: *horrifyingly*

CIMORENE: (oh gods...)

NARRATOR: *you are hanging encased in webbing and feeling quite weak*

NARRATOR: (would you like a strength test to wriggle free?)

CIMORENE: (I won't pass it)

NARRATOR: (no)

CIMORENE: (I'm at -7)

NARRATOR: (no chance, unless you roll box cars of course)

CIMORENE: (nope)

NARRATOR: *time passes without measure and it's dark and then light, then dark again*

CIMORENE: *shivers in absolut terror, but doesn't scream, afraid that the spiders will come after her*

NARRATOR: (good girl)

NARRATOR: *the back of the webbing cuts out*

NARRATOR: *you fall into arms*

NARRATOR: *humanoid arms*

CIMORENE: *is limp, and groggy, but still tries to struggle a little, whimpering*

NARRATOR: *you are spun around to reveal...*

NARRATOR: *an old man in brown*

CIMORENE: (*face faults, anime style*)

NARRATOR: Man:*barely audible whisper*Do not speak and let me take you.

NARRATOR: *he speaks high elven*

CIMORENE: *she nods weakly*

NARRATOR: *lifts you over his shoulder*

NARRATOR: *he takes you off swiftly and quietly.  you notice even in your state that he makes no audible sound while traveling in the heavy bush*

NARRATOR: *after a long uncalculable time he sets you down by a tree*

NARRATOR: Man:*quietly*There now.

NARRATOR: Man:You can speak, I would rest a moment.

CIMORENE: *her mouth works, unused to moving*  B-Bard.....

CIMORENE: (Wits test to see who he is?)

NARRATOR: (sure)

CIMORENE: (have I healed at all?)

NARRATOR: not at all

CIMORENE: (4)

NARRATOR: almost like the web prevented it

CIMORENE: M-my Bard....

NARRATOR: Man:Who?  Did I miss someone?  *turns to go back*

CIMORENE: Horse....

NARRATOR: Man:*relaxes*Oh, i'm sorry but I found no animal there.  You are quite lucky that I found you then, they were out hunting for more food.  You appear to have been their last morsel.

CIMORENE: *tears pool in her eyes, and she stares at him*  Two men...?

NARRATOR: Man:I'm sorry but you were alone in the encampment.

NARRATOR: *he fumbles nervously with his beard*

CIMORENE: *she buries her face in her hands, sobbing silently*

NARRATOR: Man:I truly hope that we can get you to safety*lights up* speaking of which.  *he brings out a med-kit*

NARRATOR: *you go up a wound level*

NARRATOR: Man:There now better?

CIMORENE: *she shakes her head, feeling only slightly better*  Must find..... wizard..... or elf king...

NARRATOR: Man:What business do you have with such people young lady?*sizes you up*You look like a little of both yoursefl*chuckles quietly*

CIMORENE: *smiles ruefully*  On a quest.... Friend of Elf King.... my companions.... *she swallows painfully*  wer looking for the wizard....

NARRATOR: Man:I know of a green wizard in these parts would you like to see him?  Would that ease your pain?

CIMORENE: *her eyes just light up, and her mouth breaks into a smile*  Ulrich!!  He's alive, then?@

NARRATOR: Man:My you are friends aren't you know? *smiles*  Yes I can take you to where I last saw him alright.

NARRATOR: *spider squeals in the distance*

NARRATOR: Man:We must go now.

NARRATOR: *he is instantly serious and picks you up*

NARRATOR: Man:*whispers in audibly*No words now.

CIMORENE: *nods, picking up her bow*

NARRATOR: *he carries you for the rest of the day until nightfall*

NARRATOR: *he sets you down next to another tree and works quickly to start a fire*

NARRATOR: Man:*to you*You may speak again.

CIMORENE: *she nods*  Please..... did Ulrich have a man with him?  Very injured, maybe wrapped in spider gauze?

NARRATOR: Man:No he did not, he was alone on his horse.

NARRATOR: *the fire kindles*

NARRATOR: (make an observe)

CIMORENE: *she swears softly in Elven, then forces the tears back in her head*  Ulrich is all right, though?

NARRATOR: Man:He seemed somewhat shaken, apparently he has been knocked up a bit by spiders himself.

CIMORENE: ((13)

NARRATOR: (we'll get to that in a minute)

NARRATOR: Man:*looks to you smiling*It seems a popular experience in recent times.

CIMORENE: *she glances at him, not smiling back*  I tried so hard to keep my man-friend alive....

NARRATOR: Man:Who says he's dead now?

CIMORENE: He was alive when Ulrich took him from me.  Unless Ulrich were dead, then Ipal should have been with him

NARRATOR: Man:I believe he is clinging to life yet.

CIMORENE: But.... you said Ulrich was alone

NARRATOR: Man:last i saw him yest

CIMORENE: then how do you know Ipal is alive?

NARRATOR: *the man makes a "shhh" sign with his hand gently*

NARRATOR: Man:let us dispense with our names Cimorene.  I am Radagast the Brown.  *offers his hand and you*
