Within days of testifying to the French inquest, Richard Tomlinson was arrested in New York City when he arrived at JFK airport via SwissAir. He had been scheduled for a live interview on the Today show for NBC television (and he had recently given an interview to Time magazine). The former secret agent was "frogmarched" off the plane in front of the other passengers. (Frogmarch: "to grasp by the arm and force to walk along" (Webster's Dictionary).) Tomlinson testified: "I was taken to the immigration detention center, photographed, fingerprinted, manacled by my ankle to a chair for seven hours, served with deportation papers (exhibit 1) and then returned on the next flight to Geneva. I was not allowed to make any telephone calls to the representatives of NBC awaiting me in the airport. The US immigration officers�who were all openly sympathetic to my situation and apologized for treating me so badly�openly admitted that they were acting under instructions from the CIA."
Tomlinson had experienced a busy two months of arrests and deportations perpetrated by the governments of many nations around the world, in an obvious attempt to censor his allegations and revelations of mass murder committed by the British authorities. The governments of the world's most powerful democracies had cooperated in terrorizing this former secret agent, in their attempts to silence him permanently. Surely any other citizen would have been intimidated into submission at this point? Yet mere arrest and imprisonment had not proven effective. Loss of pay and pension could not be held over his head, since he had already been fired by MI6. Perhaps sterner measures were required? With many billions of dollars at stake, as well as control of unlimited political power by the English monarchy, the stakes were certainly high. Cost, therefore, was no object. Especially if such an effort could be funded with OPM (Other People's Money, i.e., tax revenues).
One day prior to the fateful crash, the New Zealand Press Association had reported: "The father of New Zealand-born spy Richard Tomlinson is worried his son might be killed in an 'accident' orchestrated by the British secret service�. 'People get knocked off their motorbikes and have car crashes and there's no proof that it's an accident,' the spy's father declared from his home in England. 'Those sorts of things can and do happen and we're concerned for that reason.'"
After his interview by NBC television, Richard Tomlinson had been reportedly scheduled to return to his new home of political asylum in Geneva, Switzerland aboard SwissAir flight 111 on 2 September, 1998. Since he had been arrested and deported prior to the interview, he was forced against his will to return earlier than expected on a different flight.
Coincidentally, this same airliner that Tomlinson had originally been scheduled to fly on back to Switzerland suffered an inflight fire.
The radio transmission of SwissAir 111 revealed: "SwissAir One Eleven heavy is declaring Pan Pan Pan. We have, uh, smoke in the cockpit�. SwissAir One Eleven is declaring emergency�. Eleven heavy, we are starting dump now we have to land immediate."
Taking off from JFK airport in New York City, and flying nonstop to Geneva, Switzerland involves flying over Canada, Britain and the Atlantic Ocean. There are few airports to make emergency landings on. At the time of this fire, SwissAir 111 had departed U.S. airspace. The nearest airport was in Canada (which is part of the British Empire).
Press reports based upon government leaks later revealed that the two pilots differed in their opinions on how to handle the inflight emergency (the new American-built airliner did not have provision for a third pilot in order to maximize corporate profit). The copilot wanted to dump fuel over the sparsely populated wilderness and to make a beeline for the nearest runway. The career-sensitive senior pilot chose to go by-the-book, following a company checklist that wasted valuable time and risked acceleration of an electrical fire. Apparently, the copilot acquiesced, and SwissAir 111 flew back out over the ocean to dump its fuel and perform hundreds of systems checks, as per the volumes of checklist.
Such inflight fires are not uncommon, with successful emergency landings occurring once a week in the USA, according to government figures. Unfortunately, current aviation safety standards provide no protection for aircraft confronted with serious fires. This lack of safety protections can prevent pilots from safely landing their airliners. Apparently, such was the case with SwissAir 111.
While attempting its emergency landing in Canada, the pilots ran out of time and were unable to maintain control of the aircraft. The airliner crashed into the ocean seven miles offshore. All 229 passengers and crew of SwissAir flight 111 died during the extreme impact, which left shredded, fragmented and dismembered body parts washing up on shore. It was "grisly, gruesome and ghastly," one "rescue" team member was quoted by the news media. This was SwissAir's first crash in over 20 years. Although a Swiss-owned aircraft, 137 of the dead were American citizens, and 53 had purchased their tickets through Delta Air Lines.
Coincidentally, since Flight 111's crash occurred in Canada, transcripts of the doomed airliner's "black boxes" (which are actually painted red as common sense would dictate in the name of crash recovery) are automatically censored from the public. In fact, in this particular crash, the final six minutes of 111's life was allegedly censored from being recorded by the black boxes due to an unexplained lack of electricity, although the previous 24 hours of voice and performance data had been successfully recorded.
The public will never be able to know what actually happened inside the cockpit of SwissAir 111, during its final minutes of life. However, one can reasonably infer that it might have been similar to SwissAir 330, which also suffered an inflight-fire emergency back in 1970, during a flight to Zurich, Switzerland. Forty-seven people died in that crash. Radio transmissions to Air Traffic Control told their sad story: "We suspect an explosion in the aft compartment of the aircraft�. We also request police to investigate the incident�. We have a fire onboard request an immediate landing�. Emergency we have� smoke on board I can't see anything�. Is crashing�. Goodbye everybody. Only one newspaper ever reported that Richard Tomlinson had been on the original passenger list of SwissAir 111. The British newspaper News of the World published its account on September 13, 1998 story. Journalist Neville Thurlbeck stood behind his research: "If a story is found to be untrue, we always print a rebuttal notice; but you can take my word for it, this one won't be!" Two days after the deadly crash of SwissAir 111, Richard Tomlinson fled from his home in Geneva and applied for political asylum in Switzerland, as reported by the Associated Press on September 4, 1998. One has to wonder whether any airline will ever sell him a ticket again, like British author Salman Rushdie, who was flight-banned due to being an assassination target of the Iranian government. Note that Switzerland is the neutral nation that MI6 had proposed for the murder of the President of Serbia, so while the Swiss government might appreciate the spy's honesty, Tomlinson might still fear for his life.
With assistance from Swiss journalists and from a secret underground location, the frozen-out spy continued giving world-wide interviews and providing testimony to the Parisian DWI inquest. In May of 1999, Tomlinson was suspected of posting on the American Internet 116 names of British MI6 spies operating out of embassies around the world, including several who were in Paris at the time of Diana's car crash. MI6 attorneys got the names pulled from the Net, and the British government sought to prevent his international travel and to extradite the fugitive from Switzerland to face further prosecution over "the one-man war he was waging against British authorities." Sabotage was apparently never considered during the raging public debate over the possible causes from defective engineering. While professional pilots analyzed in detail the options under their direct control, such as emergency procedures, no question were ever asked regarding the investigation of criminal governmental behavior (as if human beings employed by governments are not capable of criminal behavior). Many allegations were, however, made of government corruption in censoring emergency information and equipment from pilots. The possibility that Richard Tomlinson was meant to be intimidated and silenced by a nonfatal emergency landing by SwissAir 111 was never investigated (with pilot decisions to conform to corporate policy possibly resulting in unintended fatalities). The possibility that that SwissAir 111 was sabatoged with murderous intentions was never discussed by pilots nor investigated by government authorities under control of the British government in Canada.
The total cost to SwissAir 111's insurors exceeded $600 million. It would have cost only $20,000 cost to equip the pilots of SwissAir 111 with hi-tech goggles to see through dense cockpit smoke in order to make a successful emergency landing. Such goggles are routinely used by city fire departments in searching for victims trapped in smoke-filled buildings. If SwissAir 111 did crash due to extreme smoke in the cockpit, regardless of the exact cause of the fire, this crash was easily preventable.
It is undisputed that government's routinely blow up airliners in order to achieve political goals. It is considered such a high risk that every airport requires state-of-the-art security countermeasures to investigate every commercial passenger. When it can be blamed on a foreign government, it is called terrorism. When it cannot be blamed on a foreign government, it is called an accident.
The U.S. government has officially admitted to blowing up only one airliner (the British government has never made such a confession). America's USS Vinciennes used IranAir as target practice, as punishment for straying over international airspace, killing hundreds of civilian passengers. The Russian government has officially confessed to blowing up a Korean Air Lines flight (ironically numbered) 007, which it presumed had strayed over Russian airspace. Coincidentally, KAL 007 was being shadowed by a U.S. Air Force AWAC radar command and control aircraft, which was mission capable of jamming and manipulating ground-based radio and radar. However, other suspicious airline disasters by the American government involved Watergate (death of Dorthey Hunt, wife of CIA White House "plumber" and alleged JFK assassination supervisor Howard Hunt, carrying hush money) and KAL 007 (death of a Congressman who was president of the ultra-right-wing John Birch Society "proved" the existence of the Evil Empire for Ronald Reagan, who's Air Force AWACS shadowed the airliner jamming its radios and telling Japanese rescue crews to abandon the living victims). History records that Chancellor Adolf Hitler used an aircraft accident to eliminate his own enemies within the Nazi government. The first human being to fly through outer space, Communist cosmonaut Yuri Gegarin, is alleged to have been murdered in the military aircrash that took his life. Ron Brown, President Bill Clinton's friend and political ally who died along with the crew in a military 737 crash in Yugoslavia, reportedly had a bullet in his head. The list goes on and on for any well-read student of modern American and world history.
Controlled, premeditated, self-inflicted terrorism is like the US government's forest service intentionally setting forest fires to prevent forest fires. If the American government does not have an issue with killing hundreds of American citizens every year during routine traffic stops, in the name of keeping the citizens in line and in their place, why should it be concerned with hundreds of occasional deaths-by-aircrash in the name of maintaining governmental stability? After all, the British and American governments allows tobacco corporations to kill off millions of British and American citizens, and allows medical corporations to kill off millions more. After all, there is an unlimited supply of replacement citizens to take their places. Nothing personal, it's just business as usual.
The general manager of the airline's New York City public relations agency bragged: "The handling of the SwissAir crash will be remembered as the Tylenol of the 1990s." State-of-the-art damage-control propaganda was used to influence the world's news-media reporting of these 229 violent deaths.

With close connections to the key individuals who had control of the twin towers shortly before they were destroyed, the obvious question is: Did Rupert Murdoch have prior knowledge of the impending Sept. 11, 2001, attacks?
Rupert Murdoch sits at the helm of News Corp. and is described as television's "most powerful man in the world with the capacity to reach more than 110 million viewers across four continents." Murdoch's network owns more than 175 newspapers, journals and magazines on three continents, publishes 40 million papers a week and dominates the newspaper markets in Britain, Australia and New Zealand. In the United States, Murdoch owns, among other things, The New York Post and the Fox News network.
An old, close friend of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Murdoch openly supports the extremist Likud Party of Israel and the Anglo-American "war on terrorism."
What is less well known, however, is Murdoch's involvement in the production of a television program in 2000, which foreshadowed the attacks on the twin towers, and his personal connections to the key individuals who came into possession of the World Trade Center shortly before its destruction.
Having produced a film about a 9-11-like attack on the World Trade Center and being closely connected to the individuals who leased and insured the WTC against precisely such an attack is indicative of some prior knowledge.
Calls to Murdoch's office by American Free Press to ask what he may have known about the possibility of such an attack were not returned.
FOX X-FILES: 'THE LONE GUNMEN' ESP 911
On March 4, 2001, Fox TV, a branch of Murdoch's media empire, broadcast the pilot episode of a program called "The Lone Gunmen." A spin-off of the popular "X-Files," Murdoch-owned companies produced the pilot episode in Vancouver, Canada, and New York from March 20 to April 7, 2000.
The pilot episode depicted a passenger aircraft being hijacked by a hostile computer hacker and flown directly into one of the towers of the World Trade Center.
The climactic sequence actually shows the plane heading for one of the twin towers; but, at the very last moment, the pilots are able to regain control of the plane and avoid the building by inches.
After 9-11, however, rather than being discussed as a prescient warning of the possibility of such an attack, the pilot episode of "The Lone Gunmen" series was quietly forgotten.
Although an estimated 13.2 million viewers watched the pilot episode, very few recalled the program when life imitated art six months later on 9-11.
"I woke up on Sept. 11 and saw [the actual attack] on TV, and the first thing I thought of was 'The Lone Gunmen'," Frank Spotnitz, one of the program's four executive producers, said. "But then in the weeks and months that followed, almost no one noticed the connection."
Spotnitz, John Shiban, Vince Gilligan and Chris Carter are all listed as executive producers of the program.
"What's disturbing about it to me is, you think as a fiction writer that if you can imagine this scenario, then the people in power in the government who are there to imagine disaster scenarios can imagine it, too," Spotnitz said.
Robert McLachlan, director of photography, received an award from the Canadian Society of Cinematographers on March 31, 2001, for his work on the pilot episode.
"It was odd that nobody referenced it," McLachlan told American Free Press about the uncanny similarity between the television program he filmed and the reality of 9-11. "You're the first person who mentioned it," he claimed. "In the ensuing press nobody mentioned that [9-11] echoed something that had been seen before."
AFP asked McLachlan about the creative talent behind the pilot program. "John Shiban was primarily the creator," McLachlan said, adding, "Chris Carter was not there." Carter is well known for his production of the "X-Files."
"It's their baby," Carter said about "The Lone Gunmen." Carter reportedly had "a minor part" in the production. Carter and Shiban could not be reached for comment.
CONNECTIONS
Murdoch's sympathies for Zionism and Israel are well known and a matter of record. As New York Gov. George Pataki said, "There is no newspaper in the United States more supportive of Israel than the [Murdoch's] New York Post."
It is through his involvement in Zionist organizations that Murdoch is seen to be connected to the key individuals who arranged the privatization of the World Trade Center shortly before its destruction. These key individuals include Larry Silverstein and Frank Lowy, the lease holders of the WTC property, and Port Authority Chairman Lewis M. Eisenberg, who supervised the transfer of the leases.
Shortly before 9-11, Silverstein Properties and Lowy's Westfield America obtained 99-year leases on the WTC. Silverstein Properties controlled the 10.6 million-square-foot complex, which included the twin towers office buildings and two nine-story office buildings. Lowy leased the shopping concourse called the Mall at the World Trade Center,
"Six weeks before the WTC towers were destroyed, the Port Authority completed the process of leasing them for 99 years to Larry Silverstein, the developer who had built the World Trade Center. Simultaneously, the retail space underneath the complex was leased to Westfield America, the U.S. division of an Australian company that is one of the world's largest operators of shopping malls." Paul Goldberger wrote in New Yorker, May 20, 2002.
"Silverstein and Westfield were given the right to rebuild the structures if they were destroyed, and Westfield has the right to expand the retail space by 30 percent," Goldberger wrote.
Silverstein is suing to obtain $7.2 billion in insurance money for the destroyed World Trade Center, property he had leased with a reported $100 million down payment of borrowed funds.
Murdoch has been honored by, and belongs to Zionist organizations in which Silverstein, Lowy and Eisenberg hold senior positions, or which they fund. These organizations include the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the United Jewish Appeal (UJA), and the New York-based Museum of Jewish Heritage�A Living Memorial to the Holocaust.
Silverstein and Eisenberg have both held senior leadership positions with the United Jewish Appeal (UJA), a billion dollar Zionist "Charity" organization, to which Murdoch and Lowy generously contribute. In 1997, Henry Kissinger presented Murdoch with the UJA's award for "Humanitarian of the Year."
Silverstein is a former chairman of UJA. This organization raises hundreds of millions of dollars every year for a network of Zionist agencies in the United States and Israel. Eisenberg, who was instrumental in obtaining the lease for Silverstein, is on the Planning Board of UJA.
vEisenberg in his role with the Port Authority was the key person who negotiated the 99-year leases for Silverstein and Frank Lowy's Westfield America, who were in fact low-bidders for the lease on the 110-story towers and the retail mall.
Murdoch and the Czechoslovakian-born Israeli commando Frank Lowy, a former fighter in Israel's Golani Brigade who went to Australia in the 1950s, have had a long friendship, which Murdoch recounted during an American Australian Association fund-raising dinner in honor of Frank's son, Peter S. Lowy, in New York on November 20, 2002.
THE ZIONIST MURDOCH
vSam Kiley, veteran journalist on the Middle East for The Times (UK), wrote about the man who took over the famous British paper: "Murdoch is a close friend of Ariel Sharon." Kiley said Murdoch's friendship with Sharon, led senior staff at the paper to rewrite important copy.
"Murdoch's executives were so afraid of irritating him that, when I pulled off a little scoop of tracking down and photographing the unit in the Israeli army that killed Mohammed al-Durrah, the 12-year-old boy whose death was captured on film and became the iconic image of the conflict, I was asked to file the piece 'without mentioning the dead kid,' " Kiley wrote. "After that conversation, I was left wordless, so I quit."
The visit with Sharon included a trip for Murdoch and his editors from New York and London that "took them on a bird's-eye tour of Israel aboard a helicopter gunship, flying over the Golan Heights, West Bank and settlements."

In June 2002 Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stone who has long scandalized the world with his immoral lifestyle and appalling stage acts, received one of the highest honors Queen Elizabeth II can bestow: the knighthood.
It is hard to believe. How could "His Satanic Majesty," as he titled himself on one of his albums, receive the honor that used to be reserved for Catholics warriors known for their heroic dedication to the English Crown and irreproachable personal lives? Winston Churchill received an analogous honor for having contributed decisively, more than any other Englishman, to defeating the Nazi danger in World Ward II. What an abyss of difference - from Churchill to Jagger�
In the Middle Ages, the Catholic knighthood symbolized a second Baptism. The knight-aspirant used to speand the day before the ceremony in Church, where he confessed his sins to a priest, heard Mass, received Communion, and then remained alone all night before the altar to prepare his soul for the solemn act of his entrance into this more noble state of chivalry.
On the day of his dubbing, he was dressed by attendants in a white robe meant to represent the cleanliness of his body and soul. Next came the red cloak, to indicate readiness to shed his blood for the Church and noble causes. His outer garment was black, to represent the death he must be ready to bravely face. His brown stockings symbolized the earth to which he would return at death.
During the ceremony, he took a solemn vow according to the laws of chivalry: never to consent to lies or treason, to defend the Church, to succor the helpless and oppressed, to protect women, widows, and orphans, to go to Mass every day, to fast on Fridays in memory of Christ, to never retreat before the enemy, etc. (The French had 20 vows of Knighthood).
He received a blow with the flat of a sword on his neck or shoulders, which signified the last insults he could receive without retaliating.
"In the name of God, St. Michael and St. George, I make you a knight," was one of the popular formulas in England. His response: "So I shall be, with God's help."
Despite the Revolution's unflagging efforts to destroy the prestige of every aristocratic institution, something of the golden aura conferred by this magnificent institution blessed, and one could even say created, by the Catholic Church continues to cling to the ideal of knighthood. That is why this act of Queen Elizabeth II, the latest bad choice in a chain of bad choices, is all the more disturbing.
Mick Jagger not only violates all the principles of chivalry, but blatantly mocks even the laws of basic decency. Allan Bloom singled out Jagger in the The Closing of the American Mind as the sine qua non of everything that was diseased in youth culture.
Tacit approval of a culture of drugs, homosexuality, and Satanism
In 1965, Paul McCartney and the other Beatles were honored by Queen Elizabeth with an MBE (Member of British Empire) medal. Afterward they confessed that they had smoked marijuana in the Buckingham Palace bathroom just before the ceremony. An act of frontal offense to the honor they would so shortly receive. The British people responded with shock and protest. Some former recipients of the honor even returned their medals to the Queen, saying they did not want to be in the same company with these scandalous rock stars, symbols of rebellion and drugs. The Beatles had already released their album glorifing psychedelic drugs, "Sgr. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," dedicated to known Satanist Aleister Crowley. One month after the album's release, they once again shocked the world announcing publicly they were taking L.S.D.
Thirty years later, in 1996, the Queen knighted Beatle Paul McCartney for his "contributions to British music and society." No apolgies had been made or were offered then for the past life and actions of McCartney and the Beatles. Thus he was implicitly presented as a model to be followed. The glory of the chivalry of old was dragged into the mud. But more was to come. One year later British society received a new model to be followed: homosexuality. This took place in 1997 with the knighthood of homosexual "pop rocker" Elton John, who had once romped in a cemetery for an album cover and scandalized the world with his homosexual confessions.
Now, in June 2002, coming on the heels of a pop concert at Buckingham Palace celebrating the Queen's Golden Jubilee, the knighthood was bestowed on Mick Jagger, who takes credit for the origination of today's blatantly Satanic "heavy metal." Some of his fans expected Jagger to reject the honor from the "establishment" he was supposed to revile. Instead, he accepted with pleasure, responding that it "reflects really wonderfully on all the achievements of the Rolling Stones over the last 40 years."
The "achievements" of the rock star
What would such "achievement" be? A list of his personal "achievements," in a certain way, epitomize the whole counter-culture.
- Having fathered seven children by four different women, he was also rumored to have a fling with fellow rocker David Bowie.
- Jailed for the use of drugs, and vandalism, he revels in pushing the limits of human excess and degradation in onstage acts too vulgar to mention.
- The catalog of songs he has authored is famous for demeaning women, and glorifying violence and Satan.
Yes, Satan. In 1967, the Rolling Stones released their first rock album openly celebrating the Devil, titled 'Their Satanic Majesties Request." His song "Sympathy for the Devil" presented the devil as a man of wealth and taste, a role the singer supposedly embraced. The name of his successful 1994 album "Vodoo Lounge" praises black magic and the devil. Jagger has admitted dabbling in black arts and actively encouraged others to do the same: "It's something everybody ought to explore. There are possibilities..."[1]

Although it is a slight deviation, let me make an more concrete and immediate observation for my readers. It is, of course, quite easy to criticize the Queen for "caving in" to modern culture and making knights of rock stars. But, in a certain way, the stimulus for her actions comes from the acceptance of this culture among the masses. And here, even many Catholics, unfortunate to say, promote the rock music of the Beatles and Rolling Stones by playing it their homes or attending their concerts.
One can object, "I don't approve of their lifestyles, I just like the music." But the music was the product of the lifestyle. Catholic parents who accept it are giving tacit approval to the cultural revolution and the "hard rock" they ask their children to reject. Doesn't this acceptance, in fact, imply a kind of "baptism" of rock culture in a Catholic home?
Debasement of an aristocratic institution.
The bestowing of a knighthood on a degenerate individual like Mick Jagger exposes a tactic of the Revolution employed in both the spiritual and temporal orders. That is, when the Revolution cannot do away with a noble or aristocratic institution, it tries to debase it.
In the case of the nobility, the title comes to mean less when it is shared with those who are not truly worthy of the honor. In fact, the word, honor (from the Latin honor: excellence of character, high moral worth) loses its meaning when applied to persons of poor character and bad morals.
Titles were simply forbidden in the United States after the American Revolution (lthough it could not quash the American fascination with the titled nobility of Europe, which exists to this day). It was not so simple in France, where, after the French Revolution, the people still had a strong attachment to the aristocratic institutions. Since the people were clamoring for nobility, Napoleon took it upon himself to make a new one.
In his opera "Madame Sans-G�ne" [Madame Free-and-Easy], Umberto Giordani satirized this policy of Napoleon. In Giordani's work, Napoleon names as the Duchess of Danzig an illiterate and not-so-virtuous commoner, who had been a quartermaster and laundress during the Revolution.. At the end of the play, despite her vulgar language and shocking court manners, she is complimented by Napoleon, who tells her husband to "cherish her, for she is worth keeping."
In fact, the reality was not so far removed from Giordani's comedy: Napoleon raised a good number of common soldiers to the ranks of general, duke, prince, and even king. "I made them from mud," he boasted, speaking of his generals.
Inflating the numbers of titles and honors, Napoleon demoralized the legitimate recipients and thus debased the titles. The revolutionary goal of leveling institutions triumphed under him � not by the guillotine or force, but with an intelligent maneuver. It is a maneuver that continues to be carried out in the social, political, and religious spheres right up until our day. This is why it is important to have an understanding of it, so that we can make analyses under its light.
Application of the Principle
The title of knight bestowed in the Catholic Church suffers a similar debasement when unworthy candidates are chosen. Consider the knighthood granted a few years ago to the non-Catholic media mogul Rupert Murdoch. After he donated $10 million to the building of the Los Angeles Cathedral, the Pope made him a member of the Pontifical Order of St. Gregory the Great in January 1998. This knighthood, the highest lay honor bestowed on behalf of the Pope, is given to persons of "unblemished character" who have promoted the interests of the Catholic Church and the Holy See. Even some of the media publicly admitted the irony of the act, as headlines announced "Some May Call it Blood Money," "Arise, Sir Rupert, Papal Knight."
In the temporal sphere, Queen Elizabeth II bestows titles on rock stars like Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger. In the spiritual sphere, Pope John Paul II invites a rock icon like Bob Dylan himself to perform at a Eucharistic Congress, and makes an album with pop stars like Britney Spears. Do they realize how much actions like these serve the revolutionary cause? Who can say? But that is, by the way of the facts, what they are doing. Far from fighting the "culture of death" they give their tacit approval to elements that constitute it.

GEORGE Bush yesterday vowed to start more wars for the "moral goal" of liberation.
The president said the US reserved the right to use force against tyranny.
In the only public speech of his visit, Mr Bush said he would not bow to "thugs and assassins".
Just 24 hours before today's mass anti-war rally in London, he defended invading Iraq. Mr Bush paid lip service to global anti-war feeling - then threatened military action whenever he felt like it.
He said: "There are principled objections to the use of force in every generation and I credit the good motives behind those views.
"Those in authority, however, are not judged only by good motivations. The people have given us the duty to defend them. That duty sometimes requires the violent restraint of violent men.
"In some cases, the measured use of force is all that protects us from a chaotic world ruled by force."
Mr Bush told an audience at London's Banqueting House that the September 11 attacks proved the dangers of ignoring oppression in a distant land.
"Because European countries now resolve differences through negotiation and consensus there is sometimes an assumption that the entire world functions in the same way. But let us never forget how Europe's unity was achieved - by Allied armies of liberation and Nato armies of defence.
"Beyond Europe, where oppression and violence are very real, liberation is still a moral goal."
Mr Bush pledged to finish the task in Iraq following speculation that America was about to pull out.
vHe said: "We did not charge hundreds of miles into the heart of Iraq and pay a bitter cost of casualties and liberate 25 million people only to retreat before a band of thugs and assassins. Whatever has come before, we now have only two options: to keep our word or to break our word. The failure of democracy in Iraq would throw its people back into misery and turn that country over to terrorists who wish to destroy us.
"Yet democracy will succeed in Iraq. Because our will is firm, our word is good and the Iraqi people will not surrender their freedom."
Mr Bush, due today to meet relatives of servicemen killed in Iraq, added: "Some families now live with the burden of great sorrow. We cannot take their pain away, but these families should know they are not alone. We pray for their strength, we pray for their comfort. We will never forget the courage of the ones they loved."
Mr Bush heaped praise on Tony Blair, saying: "America has always found strong partners in London, leaders of good judgment and blunt counsel and backbone when times are tough. And I have found all those qualities in your current Prime Minister who has my respect and my deepest thanks.
"The men and women of this kingdom are kind, generous and brave. America is fortunate to call this country our closest friend. May God bless you all."
The Queen echoed his comments on the special relationship, saying the countries were never closer.
At a banquet held at Buckingham Palace - with a menu of halibut, chicken and ice cream - she said: "Our troops have served side by side in Afghanistan and Iraq to lead the fight to restore freedom and democracy. Our two countries stand firm in their determination to defeat terrorism."

"Mayor Giuliani � a former federal prosecutor who won notice for 'pursuing' the Mafia � had relatives linked to organized crime, including a mobbed-up cousin who was gunned down by FBI agents in 1977, a new book says. Lewis D'Avanzo, a son of the mayor's uncle and a guest at Giuliani's first wedding in 1968, was a 'ruthless and widely feared mob associate' who headed a massive stolen car ring, according to FBI documents and interviews detailed in Rudy! An Investigative Biography of Rudolph Giuliani, by Village Voice senior editor Wayne Barrett. Due in stores next week, the book sketches a largely unflattering portrait of the clan, depicting his father, Harold, as a hothead and the "muscle" behind a brother-in-law's loansharking operation, run out of a Brooklyn bar. Along with cracking heads, it says the mayor's father served time in state prison for a stickup, rarely held an on-the-books job and once was a gunman in a mob shootout in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. According to the book, Giuliani's cousin Lewis D'Avanzo was known as 'Steve the Blond' and listed as armed and dangerous in FBI bulletins. His criminal record included a 10-year federal sentence for the armed hijacking of a truck loaded with $240,000 worth of mercury. The book alleges that he was suspected of taking part in several murders. D'Avanzo was gunned down by the FBI in October 1977, when he tried to run down an agent after being stopped on a warrant that accused him and two associates of transporting 100 stolen luxury cars. Quoting an unnamed friend of D'Avanzo, the book describes a 1962 shootout pitting a local mobster against the mayor's father and Leo D'Avanzo, Lewis D'Avanzo's father. The book says Leo was later sanctioned by mob bosses for shooting at a Mafia member. Leo D'Avanzo, who was known in family circles as a black sheep, ran loansharking and gambling operations out of a Brooklyn bar where Giuliani's father worked as a bartender. In his role as debt collector, his father 'broke legs, smashed kneecaps, crunched noses.' Joan Ellen D'Avanzo, a cousin who at one time lived with Giuliani when he was a youngster, became a drug addict who was beaten to death in 1973 at age 34. Her cause of death was listed as undetermined, but several family members said she was murdered."
