Pemberley had to be the grandest house, but it also had to have undimished taste unlike the slightly ostentatious Rosings Park. Pemberley was found at Lyme Park located on the Cheshire/Derbyshire border, but they were only allowed to film the exterier of the house due to a change in management during filming. The interiors where filmed at Sudbury whcih is near Lyme Park.
Netherfield
The Bingley's home was found near Banberry and was the last main location for the filming. The production team had difficultly because they wanted to link this with some Darcy scenes in London streets. This is difficult due to the expensive in time and money, but they were able to finally accomplish it.
Longbourn
Finding Longbourn was an extremely difficult task. The production team needed a building that was a specific size, but not too grand; it had to be on the correct social level. Also, it needed to have extensive gardens and an owner who was willing to let their house be taken over for ten weeks. They finally found the perfect place in Wiltshire. The home: Luckington Court. The owner: Angela Horn. The production team found this place while looking for a village that would serve as Merryton. They found this at Lacoch villiage in Wiltshire. While they were there, they wanted to find a Longbourn near the village. And that's where they found Mrs. Horn. She agreed to allow them to use her home for the filming, but the interior of her home had to be redone in authentic 19th century furnishings. Mrs. Horn was moved to a far corner of her home to allow her privacy from the filming.
Rosings Park and Hunsford
Rosings was found at Belton House in Lincolnshire, a National Trust property. It is a Restoration country house with beautiful gardens and a small attached chuch, perfect for Mr. Collins. The Parsonage had to be smaller than Longbourn and in the same area as Rosings. They found the parsonage at the Old Rectory at Teigh in Leicesteshire owned by Barry and Tor Ownes.
