| The music in this movie was composed by Carl Davis. All of the wonderful music that you hear in the background was written by Mr. Davis. He has been writting scores for the BBC adaptations of classical novels since the mid-1970's. Mr. Davis said as to why he wanted to be apart of this production, "I loved Pride and Prejudice: I thought Elizabeth Bennet must be one of the greatest heroines in Enlish literature... I was quite seduced by it and longed to join Jane Austen in musical commentary. So when I heard Sue was producing it, I battered on her door to be allowed to do it." - From The Making of Pride and Prejudice |

| Many of you may be surprised to find that the music in the dancing scenes are not composed by Mr. Davis, but they are actual English country dances once used during Jane Austen times. These wonderful songs are what makes Pride and Prejudice (the movie) more enjoyable! I have compiled a list of some of the music that you hear in the movie. Also, you can check out the site below to listen to these songs. Enjoy! |
