Home Big Bend Bio Grand Canyon art Theater Nature

"This site is dedicated to art in all its manifestations. Nature is the sourse of all art, so it is included.

It would be a serious mistake to leave anything out. My first loves as a child, were drawing and playing music. They have been with me in one way or another all my life.

I always loved and respected nature. Was tought about the plants and animals early. Biology and geology are now almost obsessive with me.

I hope these pages will strike a note with any viewers who happen on them. Please share your thoughts and criticism.

My bio page contains family history so tied up with personal history, they are one and the same. This project can go on indefinitely."

Monarch Butterfly visiting a Sunflower

The Monarch Butterfly is the only insect I know of that migrates.
Only recently have we learned the whereabouts of thier wintering grounds.
All through North America, two streams, one from the east, one from the west, head to Mexico and California, respectively.

Another curious fact about this common butterfly, is that they lay their eggs on milkweed. Their larva feed on them, therefore becoming so caustic, preditors will leave them alone.

At Pawleys Island, the evening magic
is spread abroad.
