PM  SPEED DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

In every little village in the world there are great potential champions who only need motivation, development and good exercise evaluation.”  Arthur Lydiard

Hi, this is the page of the PM ‘Speed Development Squad’. PM aims to give young athletes  the opportunity to learn efficient sprinting mechanics. By doing so  the athlete will be able to reach their potential regardless of which sport they eventually decide to participate in.

To often children are taught to go out and run as fast as they can before they have learnt efficient movement patterns. As a consequence, by the ages of 15 or 16 poor movement patterns have been ingrained and inevitably may limit the potential of the athlete. PM believes that along with the learning of technique, proper conditioning to improve performance and prevent injury are the two most important keys during development and especially in the pre-teen years.

All PM squad members are taught the fundamentals of sprinting including the importance of warm up, flexibility, technique development, the importance of enjoying running and general fitness conditioning. From time to time we will keep you up to date with the number of squad members and their progression.
