Guitar Playing
Guitar Blurbs:

My wife, Tina, now has a Guitar. I purchased an Ovation for her from a local pawn shop. It was in really great shape and we knew that we needed to buy it. Look below for photograph.

I started praying on Oct. 31, 2003 for a new cheap guitar that I can take with me to College so I can play on the sidewalks of Angelo State. As a ministry tool. I was given a guitar on Sunday November 9th, 2003. Praise the Lord. Soon to come photos of the new guitar.

I have been playing since December of 2002. I like to play modern worship songs. I also play older worship stuff and a few folk songs. I have never played electric, mostly because I don't own one.

In the summer of
2003 bought a Taylor guitar. I prayed for months about the guitar God wanted me to have. See below under "God and Guitars" for the awesome story.

My Dad also bought a new Tayloy guitar just like mine. The same day I bought mine. We play used to play church on Thursday nights for a Care Group with about 30 members.

More recently I'm playing in my Classroom, I teach third grade. Also, I have been the part-time co-worship leader at
ROCK Fellowship a small home church in San Angelo.

I've been trying to teach my wife, Tina, to play but she doesn't have too much patients working with the guitar.

In the summer of 2006, I was given another guitar (ascoustic) from a man in Kerrville, TX.

GOD AND GUTIARS
When I was learning how to play guitar I was playing my dads old guitar and that was fine however I wanted a guitar so I could learn the strumming patterns as he played. So I when looking at the local guitar store here in San Angelo, Texas while there the sales man (Corey Harmon) asked what I wanted to play on the guitar. I told him that I was learning to play worship music. Corey then asked me if I have ever prayed about my guitar. Corey told me that I need to pray and if God tells me to get a pawnshop guitar then so be it. (Not your usual sales line) I later found out that Corey got in some trouble for his comment for me to pray about it. Well, I took his advice. See I was looking at a really really nice Taylor brand guitar that was like $2,000. I keep praying and praying.

Then a few months later I was in San Antonio, TX on a family vacation and I headed over to Alamo Music and there she was my guitar. It was a Taylor Brand model 110GB. I got a good deal on it. It was really amazing that God kept sweetening the deal. First I got a discount on the Taylor guitar. Then I wanted a hard shell case instead of the gig bag that came with the guitar, so I asked the salesman and he said that they have a Taylor Brand guitar case in their basement and they couldnt figure out why it was there. They gave me the case for like $20. Normally they are like $80 to $100. Then I got a nice leather strap that was normally like $45 for like $15. Then they gave me a bunch of Taylor Brand picks. Then dad, who was with me, got the same deal I did. So we walked out of their with 2 guitars, 2 gig bags, 2 hard shell cases, two leather Taylor straps, and a bunch of picks.

God has been really blessed me when I prayed about that guitar. I still play it today. I named it Tina Taylor after my wife Tina.
