Currently, I'm a third grade teacher and webmaster at Cornerstone Christian School in San Angelo, Texas. I'm married to a wonderful gift from god, Tina. She is also a teacher and works at Wall Junior High School. We were wed in the summer of 2005, and she has been helping me in the ministry ever since.
I'm a graduate of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, Class of 2006. My major area of study is elementary education. It seems I just can't leave San Angelo, I was born here about 23 years ago. I attened Glenmore Elementary, Edison Jr. High, and Central High School (class of 2002).
I'm an former volunteer at House of Faith. I started going to House of Faith as a youth in ninth grade, now I'm volunteering with the Refuge, House of Faith's urban teen ministry, as photographer, alter-call team member, and I occasionally run sound. I also helped with the back yard Bible clubs (BBC), elementary aged minsitry of House of Faith. I mostly helped at Blackshear elementray and sometimes where ever else I'm needed. I still help out at House of Faith when I'm needed.
House of Faith has played a big part in my life. When I started attending House of Faith in 9th grade as a youth I didn't know how to look up a verse in the Bible, for example I had no idea what John 3:16 ment, as far as I knew it was someones name with some strange number after it. I'm really glad that House of Faith was there for me. As a voulnteer working at the Blackshear BBC I noticed that my elementary aged children lacked a male christian role model. They often looked up to rappers, gang members, etc.
I feel that God's call in my life is not to go into ministry, but to let my light shine in schools as an elementray school teacher. I hope to me a male christian role model to my students who don't have that type of a role model at home. |
