| ACCOUNTING ORGANISATION OF THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR |
| The Secretary of the Ministry is the Chief Accounting Authority of the Ministry. As Chief Accounting Authority he performs his duties with the assistance of a Financial Adviser and a Controller of Accounts. The Accounting Organisation of the Ministry of Labour is headed by Controller of Accounts, 7 PAOs and a Principal Accounts Office. Out of 7 PAOs, 3 PAOs i.e. PAO DGET-I, PAO CLC and PAO Secretariat are located in DELHI and 4 PAOs i.e. PAO DGMS, PAO DGET-II, PAO DGFASLI and PAO Labour Bureau are located at Dhanbad, Chennai, Mumbai & Chandigarh respectively. These PAOs make payments on behalf of different divisions of the Ministry against the bill presented to them by non-cheque drawing DDOs after pre-check. There is an internal audit wing consisting of 3 P.A.O supervised by Dy. CA and under the overall charge of Controller of Accounts. Besides Payment & Accounts Wing, Internal Audit Wing, Budget Branch, IWSU and Cash Branch of the Ministry also report to the Controller of Accounts. |
