I finished an honours degree in aquaculture and seafood science at Curtin University of Technology in 2002. Since then I have been working on a doctorate looking at growing king prawns in inland salt water in Western Australia. I hope to hand this in some time in early 2006. I enjoy my cricket, playing for Lesmurdie Mazenod CC and am a leader in Boy's Brigade at the 41st (Dale) Company. Long-term, I am hoping to use aquaculture skills for development work overseas.
Dave's cricket team, from the Lesmurdie Mazenod cricket club, Grade E, won their Grand Final on Saturday! Here is a photo snappedright after the last wicket was taken.
Here is Dave at practice.
A poem written for David's 21st birthday sums it up well (thanks B.J.P)
When David was a baby,
His parents, by his bed,
Wondered what their child would be
when he grew up, and said:
"Will he be a COBBLER,
Or will he fly in space,
will he be a TAILOR or to Uni gain a PLAICE?
After many years of WHITING
they FLOUNDER here no more.
They SEA that baby David
is really very SHORE
His future lies in WATER.
And though he might be KOI,
He's a very quiet achiever,
And a very special boy.
Have a Happy Birthday, David,
FILLET with delight.
And may the years that lie ahead
Be fruitful, safe and bright.
