Community Vows by Brad and guests
Brad: All of you present here today have a special relationship with David and Heather as a couple. By being here you are demonstrating your continuing support for their marriage. As in the past, when times get tough in the years ahead, it will be to you that David and Heather turn to for support. At times of joy and celebration, such as today, as they have in the past, they will include you in their happiness. They ask for your continued encouragement and prayers.
David and Heather, we are thankful for Gods love and grace that brings you together. We are witnesses to the vows you are making to each other, and we commit ourselves to help you fulfil your vows. We pledge to you our prayers, our counsel, and our continued friendship.
I invite you all now to indicate your support by answering I Do to the following question: Do you commit yourselves to continuing to provide all of the encouragement and prayers possible to help David and Heather in their marriage?
THOSE PRESENT: I Do.

Reaffirmation Vows
DAVID: Heather, I commit yourself to your happiness and your self-fulfilment as a person, and to your usefulness in Gods kingdom; and I promise to love, honour, trust, and serve you in sickness and in health, in adversity and prosperity, and to be true and loyal to you, so long as we both shall live.
HEATHER: David, I commit yourself to your happiness and your self-fulfilment as a person, and to your usefulness in Gods kingdom; and I promise to love, honour, trust, and serve you in sickness and in health, in adversity and prosperity, and to be true and loyal to you, so long as we both shall live.
BRAD: The wedding ring is a symbol of marriage in at least two ways: the purity of gold symbolises the purity of your love for each other, and the unending circle symbolises the unending vows of love and faithfulness which you are taking, which may be broken honourably in the sight of God only by death.
DAVID: Heather, with this ring I have pledged my life and love to you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
HEATHER: David, with this ring I have pledged my life and love to you, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
BRAD: The bride and groom will now offer a prayer.
DAVID & HEATHER:
Heavenly Father, we offer you our souls and bodies, our thoughts and words and deeds, our love for one another. Unite our wills in your will that we may grow together in love and peace all the days of our lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sand Ceremony
David and Heather, your marriage is a covenant between two people who agree that they will devote themselves to one another and to God. You have committed to share the rest of your lives with each other. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand: one, representing you, David and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be; and the other representing you, Heather, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as the third container contains the sand, so shall God hold you and bind your marriage relationship. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.
