| Music is one of the most potent forces that exists in the world today. A simple illustration is the effect it has on the youths and even the Society at Large. An example from the Bible is the effect that Music had in the Life of David who was one of the greatest Musicians that ever lived. David was a man the bible describes as being "cunning on the Harp". When Saul was possesed with the evil spirit, David was called upon to play to deliver him from the evil spirit and the spirit would depart. This is an illustration of the power of music. Another example of Music's potency is in the area of therapy. Music has been known to treat madness and to help recovery. |
| WHAT MUSIC IS |
| If music could be used in this manner without the involvement of the Holy ghost, what a difference it would make to play under the unction of the Holy spirit with a rounded understanding of the elements of Music. I call on all Musicians in Christ to study to show themselves approved unto God and Masters in whatever task they find themselves doing. |
| THE POWER OF MELODY Someone once defined melody simply as the part of a Song that readily comes to mind or the part of the song that you hum. Others define it as the treble part of a song. What ever the case, melodies Could be either invigorating. mysterious, intruiging, or even haunting depending on the choice of notes orthe scales around which the melody is built. In my experience of writing Lyrics and Melodies for people, I have discovered the melody at times always suggests the words, or the words, the melody depending on the subject. Melodies may suggest the Chordal Structure of a song or the Harmonic structure of the back ground Vocals. Melodies could dictate the whole mood of a song, but there are other elements that make music sound the way it does, namely: Rhythm Chords |
