From all parts
of the land people came to the wild region beside the river Jordan, where
John was preaching the word of God and the coming of the Messiah.
"I am the
voice of one crying in the desert, make straight the way of the
Lord."
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among
women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus who gives us new life.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
