For more than
four hundred years God had not sent a prophet to His people. The new
prophet was John, the son of the old priest Zechariah and Elizabeth,
Mary's cousin.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among
women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus who gives us new life.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
