You have decided to explore the possiblity of private cello instruction for yourself, your child, or some other cellist. I know I don't have to tell you how important music education is to the overall academic progression of children and adults alike.
I was reading recently about a study done comparing 148 fourth-grade string students and 148 fourth-grade non-string students in Ohio. The string students had statistically significant higher test scores in reading and citizenship than the non-string students, and the mean score of string students was higher in all subjects! And that was students who left class only twice a week for 30 minutes for string music instruction.
Parents and teachers can see how music classes help children gain self-confidence and improve in other subjects. However, for some students, music class alone is not enough achieve their musical potential. I invite you to contact me if you believe that your or your student or child may benefit from additional private instruction.
