�Alicia?� She heard Lily say outside of her room. � Are you in?� She asked again.
Alicia shocked. She forgot all about Lily. Lily and her were like sisters now. Whenever she was troubled Lily was always there for her to talk to and now she�s leaving. Alicia forgot all about Lily. How could she?
�Alicia, are you here?� She heard Lily ask again, her voice not sure.
�I here.� Alicia said trying to sound brave as she wiped away some tears that just came out at that thought.
The door opened a little as Lily peeked in. � Hi� She said with the friendliest voice. � Are you okay?� she asked, her voice so sweet and soft.
�I was a moment ago.� She answered. Now tears were rushing out of her twinkling eyes. � Oh Lily� She cried as she rushed up hugging Lily so tight. She felt her tears rush. � I�m going to miss you so much.� She said again taking a breath of air between sentences. Somehow her crying was cutting her breath shorter.
�Oh, Alicia it�s okay, you�ll still be with me.� Lily said.
Alicia moved out of a hug. � You mean you�re coming?� Alicia asked. All of her heart wished for a �Yes�.
�Sorry, I wish I could come but I can�t.� Lily said. � But still, we can write to each other and email and telephone. We�ll be as close as can be with all those connections.� Lily reassured her with another hug.
Alicia pulled away. � But that will never be as close!� She screamed. Then she cried more.
�Oh, Alicia, you crying like a baby. Its okay.� Lily said again, wiping some of Alicia�s tears with her hand.
�I guess.� Alicia said. She somehow felt better after letting her feelings all go.
�Well, Let�s play a game shall we?� Lily asked in a summer sweet voice.
Alicia smiled as she giggled, � Okay. What shall we play?� Her eyes were still dimmed by tears.
�Umm� You choose!� Lily said as she held Alicia�s hand tight.
�Yell me one of your stories!� Alicia begged. � Like the adventures you had with your horse �Hope Wind� when you were little.� Alicia finished.
�All right.� Lily said as she led Alicia to her bed. She cuddled Alicia in her arm as she began her story. � It was a summer of the worst. My dad and me went on a trip. I had to leave Hope Wind in the stables back home for a whole month. But the good news was we went to a camp full of horses. My friends promised to keep good care of Hope Wind and I trusted them.
When I arrived at the camp, it was a stormy night�the worst, I would say. There was traffic oh I couldn�t describe it.
Well traffic was moving, but still slowly. We arrived midnight. Nobody was outside to await us. I think they all gave up on 9:00. After all we were suppose to arrive at 6:00.
People were surprised when we got there. They finished dinner already, so we had muffins with soup by our self.�
Lily looked back at Alicia she was sound asleep. She kissed her on the forehead, then turned back to walk out the door.
She heard Alicia mutter, � Oh, Mommy, She�s beautiful. All I ever wanted was a horse.�
Lily smiled as she crawled back to Alicia and sat on her bed. She bent over and whispered, � What do you want to name her?�
As is Alicia had heard her voice in her dream. She answered, � Lily, I want to name her Lily. It�s my favorite name.
Lily smiled. She walked back out the door. As she ran back to her own room, tears started flying out. She laid on her bed and covered her head under her pillow to muffle the sound of her cries.
�How much am I going to miss you?� She thought as she picked up Alicia�s 5-year-old picture. Alicia stood there, looking like the happiest girl ever. She was holding the stuff animal Lily gave her. Lily hugged they picture to her heart. She cried buckets of tears. One of her tears dropped on the photo. � How much am I really going to miss you?� She asked her self again as she sobbed into her pillow.
�I wish I could go with you, but I can�t, I just can�t.�
Alicia woke up. She rubbed her sore eyes. It seemed that she was crying all the time. She smiled when some memories of her dream came. But something bugged her. Lily wasn�t in that dream.
�I guess that was in the future, after we left Lily� Alicia muttered to her self sleepily. She yawned then stretched. She thought about the dream. She was happy. But how could she be happy, if Lily wasn�t there. She grew up with Lily, she had gotten used to Lily�s ways. And now it felt like the whole world span in the opposite direction.
�Lily� She muttered to herself. She�d never felt so sad, nor bad.
Alicia checked her � Hello Kitty� watch. It was 10:32. No wonder she was so sleepy. It was way pass curfew. She climbed over to her neatly folded blanket. Then slip in, cuddling herself with a stuffed horse. She smiled it. Lily bought it for her, saying it was hers when she was little. Alicia remembered her saying it looked just like �Hope Wind� She got it on her 5th birthday. About the best one she�d had so far.
She hugged it tight as a nightmare wiggled into her sleep.
Alicia walked into a huge castle covered by veins of red. She looked at the dark walls surrounding her. She felt scared, and had no idea why she was here. Just when she was about to run back a voice called her name.
�Alicia, come here. You don�t want to go now and leave your � Best Friends� In suffering do you?
Alicia turned around, startled by the deep sounding from the strange voice. � Who, who are you�you?� She said trying to muffle the frightened voice of hers by some brave sounding, unfortunately, that didn�t work out good.
�I am your worst fear, your worst nightmare. I am the dark lord, Vandorate. The fearful wizard of all.� She heard the voice cry an evil crackle came after.
Alicia took a step backwards as she heard a familiar voice.
�Alicia help!� She suddenly recognized it. It was Melissa�s voice.
�Melissa, where are you?� She shouted. She heard her voice echo in the cement walls.
�Over here!� She heard a faint voice cry. It was coming from the corner in front of her. She quickly ran over there. When she turned the corner, she saw Melissa hanging on the wall. With all fours chained up on the wall.
�Help, Try to get me down, please, I�m scared.� Melissa cried as tears ran down her cheek.
�How?� Alicia screamed, her panicking voice echoed again.
�I don�t know, but please! Please! Get me out of here!� She screamed, the chains rattled as she shook it.
Alicia looked around, that�s when something caught her eye.
�Lily� She shouted as she saw her friend hanging over a pot of something.
Lily looked at her with weak eyes. She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. All was a squeak. Lily looked back down at whatever was inside the pot she signed and closed her eyes again.
�Alicia!� She heard Melissa call her again. � Help!�
�Wait!� She shouted back as she looked around for something. When she turned around she bumped into something. Alicia lifted her head to see what. When she did. She gasped!
�Hello Alicia.� A boy said. He looked about 17. He looked at her with crystal blue eyes. � I finally get to see you. Your more prettier than I remember.�
�Who are you?� She asked looking at him.
�Don�t you know who I am? I�m lord Vandorate. But you can call me Shawn.� He said, with a smile.
�Alicia walked away from him. She ran over to Melissa. Holding the ax she�d found. She walked over to the wall, and looked up.
�I can free her, if you want your precious Lily to die.� He said holding up a control.
�No!� Alicia answered as she began to climb on the crooked bricks up to Melissa.
�If you free her, your precious Lily still dies.� He said again, this time placing his thumb on the button.
Alicia turned back; she jumped down and looked at him. �What�s that button going to do?� She ordered.
�I rather not explain the details.� He said. � But I can tell you, that if this button is pushed. Lily will die the most painful death.
Alicia nodded; she took one step and kicked the control out of his hands. She dodged for the control but he got it first.
�Want to play I can see, well, I normally don�t fight girls, but I have no choice.� He said, then he�s eyes narrowed on Alicia. She gasped.
�I�ve never been so happy to fight.� He said as he blocked a kick from her.
Alicia nodded, �Likewise� She answered shooting another kick.
After about 30 minutes of fighting. Alicia got into position. She threw the ax and it cut one of the chains that held Melissa�s arm. She quickly pulled the ax out of the wall and cut the rest of the metal chains. It took a few whacks but she managed it.
After a while Alicia heard a thump, Melissa had fallen after freeing herself.
�Run Melissa, run!� She shouted.
Just than Shawn got his chance. He got the remote and pressed the button.
Alicia heard Lily scream as she fell.
�Nooooo�.� She screamed.
�Alicia, wake up.� Alicia opened her eyes. Lily was there. She was right there, unharmed. It was all a dream, but it seemed too real to be a dream��..
