Singer Red Eye

Singer "Red Eye" Sewing Machine

The Singer "Red Eye" gets its name from the beautiful lenticular design used throughout its decoration. Several other machines earn names from their embellishments such as the Sphinx, Lotus, Memphis, Egyptian, etc.

Banding on the base can be seen as the top banner on this page.

This head was originally in a treadle machine. We found it in Georgia after someone removed it from its treadle base. The bases were sold with marble and Formica tops and the cast-off machines could be had for $5.00.

Serial number of this class 66 machine is G6808057 and made in 1919. It makes a lockstitch and sews forward only.
