Origins.

The origins of the mutants can be linked directly to the Second Central American Corporate War, where many biological agents in to Central America by accidental leeks from bio research facilities and some in a deliberate attempt to weaken the population. However these ‘agents’ did not appear to have any effects on the population, until the next generation of children was born, when 25% of births lead to children being born with mutations, many of these were horribly disfigured, whilst others appeared normal at first but as they grew older exhibited many unusually abilities. The majority of these mutants were killed at birth owing to their hideous nature, others survived until their mutations became apparent and were murdered by people reacting to their fears, others died trying to utilise there new mutations and failing. These mutations are not exclusive to humans as many other animals especially rats have succumbed to mutations. There are other mutations around all over the world, but these have been caused by Bio-ware enhancements being passed on as Bio-ware changes your DNA coding, these have specialist schools to help them, unlike those twisted by the agents released by the American Corporations in Central America.

Amongst the general population mutants of any origins are feared and often get attacked, only those with registered Bio-ware (and their children) receive any possibility of help from the officials. Mutant lynching seams to be a popular occupation in the poor quarters of the cities and towns, in the badlands anyone suspected of being a mutant, even those people with Bio-ware are put to death at the sheriffs orders. So the average mutant tries to hide their mutation from the rest of the world, as far as that is possible, especially as Mexican mutants have very few rights, even those in the special schools are eventually trained for the countries own ends, most of whom after finishing their training are shipped off world.

The Mutations.

Physical Mutations.

Albino: These mutants are true albinos, burning in sunlight so forced to live a nocturnal life. They also lose 1 point from their body type modifier and have 1 added to all save rolls.

Stunted limb growth: These mutants have 1 or more arms/legs that has not grown in relation to their body often staying the same size from birth.

IR vision: The mutant can only see in infra-red.

Over developed body part: 1 or more body parts grow oversized in relation to the rest of their bodies.

Hardened Skin: The mutant has a natural skin weave effect ranging from Sp 12- 20, the higher the skins Sp the more the skin resembles that of a rhino, at Sp 12 there is no apparent evidence, of there being a mutation.

Breaths Fire: The mutant has the ability to breath a jet of flame to a range of 2 meters.

Spits Acid: The mutant’s saliva is highly acidic, which can be spat at an opponent. These mutants have the added bonus to being very resilient to acids (sp18 against acid attacks.)

Enhanced growth: The mutant grows far bigger than normal up to a max of a body of 16, with a BTM of 8.

Stunted Growth: The mutant will only reach a maximum height of around 5 feet tall (max body of 8 and then they look rather square.)

Heightened Reflexes: The mutant has astounding reflexes (ref 11- 16) and can move at astonishing speeds (Ma 11-16)

Hideous appearance: These mutants are more than just ugly, there bodies are twisted into many different forms, most common are the ‘beast men’ who resemble distorted animals more than humans. Others have their faces and limbs so distorted that they are repulsive to look at.

Psyonic Mutation

There are rumours that many of these mutants have psyonic powers such as the ability to move things with the power of their minds, set fires, cause electrical shorts, or even read minds. These do remain unfounded, but the suspicion is there hence why many people are paranoid about Mutants.
