| As
you all must have had a small idea of situation here regarding the education of
poor Christian families in rural areas. Although importance of education is still
one of the least things on people's minds here in Pakistan but unknowingly its
destroying the future of Christian community to great extend and guiding them
right to the darkness of ignorance and poverty. The carelessness of our Religious
Leaders, institutes, Churches and ministries have played a great role in creating
this situation. All the missionary work done here 3 to 4 decades ago has vanished
with the time. The numbers of missionary schools have come from hundreds to tens
and still decreasing. Many of well established missionary institutions have been
handed over to government due to which Christians are given fewer opportunities
than before. Under such circumstances, even a well to do Christian family is living under crisis. The lack of job opportunities has destroyed the confidence of Christian
on education. Parents prefer to send their children to a mechanic shop rather
than schools. Our organization has observed this situation after three months
of continuous visits to several villages. We started with distribution of gifts
to needy ones on Christmas. But after visiting the same families we realized that
those gifts have brought no change to there lives. We were really forced to think
beyond distribution of gifts. After long discussion and meetings among our members and elders. We came to the conclusion that whatever we have lost cannot come back
but we can still save our future. And the only solution for our bright future
is the education of our children. Apart from everything " it's the right
of every child in the world to be educated". In our report we have discussed
some of the main problems faced by our Christian families regarding education.
The only solution is to provide a platform( a solid platform) to these children
and given them equal opportunities compared to any child who is talking good education.
This platform should provide them all necessary help they require in this sense.
All the expenses of there education should be paid including uniform fees books
etc. Secondly, a counseling committee should be arranged which will arrange meetings
throughout these villages and change the mentality and views of parents regarding
education. Parents should be convinced that this education will take them out
of this darkness and give them respectable status in there community. The standard
of education should be totally English medium and courses used should be equal
to the standard of good private schools. Qualified teachers should be hired from
within the community. We believe that by giving such kind of environment and atmosphere we can encourage our children and they can have the confidence and interest of
becoming doctors, engineers, businessmen, politicians or pastors of tomorrow.
This environment will make them feel equal to any human being on world and only
then we can have a bright future for our community. This freedom of education
will help us break the bondage of slavery in which we are living for centuries. There is a well know saying "Easier said
then done". Off course this project cannot be completed in days or years
perhaps. It requires full dedication, concentration, hard work, patience and finance.
But there is another saying "where there is a will there is a way" and
above all we have our trust on our Lord Jesus Christ who will guide us to success.
Although we are still planning our strategies we can assure you of one thing that success of this project will bring a huge change to our community.
