Pomery family there claim decent from the cadet line of the Tregony family; and by a marriage with one of the descendant s of Bellot acquired considerable property in the parish.

The earliest Pomeroy entry in the Registers of the parish is Richard Pomery and Jane Lampen married 24 Sept 1576.

His signature appears on 4 May 1683 in the twelvemen�s book of muniments, in the handwriting of the late John Antis, father of Sir John Antis Garter King at Arms (? Should this be Knight at Arms.) as one of the twelvemen relative to a bequest of  ten thousand weight of sugar for the poor of St Neots.
Signatories;
John Antis, Thomas Philpe vicar, Nicholas Glynn , Richard Erisay, Richard Martin, Emanuel Lampen, John Cole, Richard Pomery, Roger Landrye.

John Pomery 1685/6-1705/6 son of Charles Pomeroy of St Neot gentleman, matriculated 4 March 1701 at Exeter College Oxford graduating BA I 19 Feb 1705.

A number of St Neot wills were proved at Bodmin.


Eleanor Bonython married Hugh Pomeroy of Tregony at St Columb Major in 1600
Her sister Elizabeth married Richard Leigh in 1601 at St Columb Major. He was  son of  Mary Pomeroy and William Leigh. She was of the Collaton Pomeroy  near Newton Ferrers, her father being Andrew Pomeroy her mother Anne Matthews.
