Polly is shocked by the sudden departure of a grief-stricken Dave Quinnan after Jenny Quinnan becomes insanely jealous of Pol and kills herself by jumping off a tall building. Pol and Tone have been carefully avoiding each other since the unfortunate events at the Christmas party but Dave's absence creates a gap in both their lives. Basically, they turn to each other for comfort. At first all this achieves is the renewal of their great friendship but things go much further one night when they are on obbo together in an empty flat! Unfortunately, the suspect that they are supposed to be watching escapes and they get a telling-off from Monroe. After this, they realise that their relationship can't interfere with their work so they keep it a secret from everyone and only meet up after their shift is finished. Because they are determined to keep their work lives separate from their personal lives, this causes very little friction at Sun Hill. After a year or so of this secret relationship, it would be nice to hear the sound of wedding bells in the air...

Polly -

Jenny'll find out she's pregnant -coz they already talked about 'raising a family'- and that'll give Dave the guilts - majorly. He'll give into her and move off to Essex, leaving a VERY confused and devastated Poll.
She'll probably go through a emotional nightmare, maybe Vicky'll confide in June about the affair, and June'll try and console Poll. Then maybe there will be some Tony/Polly moments, he'll feel sorry for her coz he reckons Dave was using her, and she'll probably have a major character change/breakdown in there somewhere. Tony will support her, and MAYBE there wil be a glint of something more between them....
