Entrance
For a long time,
nobody was allowed to enter Saffron City by the guards at the four
entrances. This was changed when Red
brought them a drink.
Silph
Co. Office Building
The
most important building in Saffron City is the Sliph Co. Office Building,
which is very big and very tall. Silph Co. is responsible for most of the
inventions sold in Kanto and Johto. They make things ranging from pokéballs,
to the silphscope, to the upgrade.
In 1998, Team
Rocket took over the building. They thought that if they
controlled the main company in Kanto, they would soon be able to control
all of Kanto as well. They set teleport traps to confound intruders. They
thought that no one would be able to make their way through the building
to the different floors, but Red
did it and beat all the members of Team Rocket controlling the
building and after that went to defeat them at their hideout in the Celadon
Game Corner.
Copycat's
House
|

|
In the northwestern part
of the city lives a girl known as Copycat. She earned this
nickname because she imitates anybody who comes to visit her by
dressing up as them, saying what they say, and even making an
exact imitation of their voice!
She has tons of pokédolls
in her room (although she does not have any pokémon of her own)
and her greatest fear is to lose one of these pokédolls.
When she does, a trainer has to go find it (it usually is in Vermilion
City) and she rewards them greatly. |
Pokémon
Gym
|
The Gym in Saffron City
is led by the tough Sabrina,
a young orphan girl with psychokinetic powers. Because of this,
she uses psychic type pokémon, and all her underlings (the gym
trainers) do the same.
Her gym is quite complex.
Each room has several teleportation pads and no doors, and the
challenger must find the correct pad to reach the gym leader. |

Fighting
Dojo
There
are two gyms in Saffron City. The other one, although it's not the
official gym (meaning they don't give pokémon league badges) still has
trainers and a gym leader.
Here, all the
trainers use fighting type pokémon.
Their leader
(called the Karate King) was in Mt. Mortar in Johto
between the years 2000 and 2001 training his pokémon.
Magnet
Train Station
In
the year 2000, the magnet
train station was built. This fast train connects Goldenrod
City in Johto with Saffron City.
