Safari Zone

The Fuschia City in Kanto Safari Zone's Safari Ball Case
(source)

Many people come to Fuchsia City to enter the Safari Zone. This small natural reserve contains pokémon not seen anywhere else in the region. For a small fee, anyone can enter and participate. However, they can not attack the pokémon in the park with their own pokémon; they must lure them with a bait or infuriate them with rocks. Only when the pokémon is close enough, may it be caught. However, this can only be done with the special safari balls which are the only ones allowed to be used here.

In 2003, another Safari Zone was opened across the sea in Hoenn so trainers from that area could catch some of those pokémon that lived in regions they couldn't access.

Pokémon Gym

Gym Leader KogaThe gym in Fuchsia City was run by Koga in the 1990's. In the year 2000, Koga was elected a member of the Elite four, and left for Indigo Plateu. His daughter, Janine, took over the gym in Fuchsia since then. Both he and his daughter are skilled ninjas and poison-type-pokémon users. Extreme caution is needed to face either one of them.

Their gym is by no means simple. It is divided by walls which are practically see-through. Also, in the year 2000, all the trainers were so good at disguises, that they all looked like Janine!

2000

In the year 2000, for reasons unknown, the Warden left the city. Before leaving, he closed down the Safari Zone and the small pokémon zoo that also functioned there.
